I agree that simple roofs are somewhat boring but I would rather be able to
at least construct simple roofs in colors other than black or red. Even if
you want to construct complex roofs in black, unless you have parted out a
bunch of 2152 Robo-Raptors, the gable ends and connectors are not easy to
find. I personally like a mixture of roof colors and am willing to settle
for some plain (read flat) roofs in other colors simply to have some
variety.
My ideal solution?
Offer 3445, 3498, 3496 along with a pack like 5151 in a single color (or
maybe two colors) and change the color(s) every six months or so. I don't
think it is likely that it will happen but we can always wish!
