 Dear LEGO / 1747 (-20)
  Re: Stickers - Problems

I purchased 44 3225s last year and I'd say most had peeling sticker problems. A perfectly flat and well-preserved sticker sheet was the exception, not the rule. -John (...) (25 years ago, 6-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Stickers - Problems

(...) 3225 is not a set it's a train - it deserves it's own category along with 4558 and 4565. A set in the model train world is something that can operate just using the components in the package. (...) It's been said before, 4561 would be so good (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) I may be wrong, but I seem to remember reading somewhere, recently, that they experienced a loss in 1998. -Jonathan (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) TLC is not a corporation it is a family owned buisnesss. Unfortunatly they run it like a corporation. i.e. they no longer seem to care about quality over cutting corners to save money. Now they wonder why they are losing money. (...) I prefer (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

(...) rudeness. (...) No, I will not, and not because there aren't numerous examples. You obviously don't want to hear it, so it's best if you educate yourself. Very easy to do with the internet. We all love Lego, but you have to remember it's a (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general)

Re: Bulk Ordering Train windows... My Thoughts

NO, they unfortunately have plain glass, not train glass. Otherwise, those vans would never make it onto the shelves around here, I'd buy them by the case. (...) -- Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual FAQ home ***(URL) Bay Area DSMs (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

I've had a similar problem with a 3225 too - at first I thought that the box had been returned to the shop after someon had opened it and pulled the stickers off the backing. They seem to stay on the elements OK (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: Stickers - Problems

I have never had a sticker problem EXCEPT with #4556, the small red train station. Some of the stickers were curling up off the backing when I opened the box, and they have continued to curl up from the elements they were applied to. I wonder if (...)   Re: Stickers - Problems

(...) No. 4560 is BETTER than 4561 because it doesn't come with the rather useless transformer. And 3225 is easily better than 4559. Although, as you say, it *is* a set rather than just a collection of cars or a locomotive. So I'd rank 4559 and (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Stickers - Problems

The last 2 new sets I have built (4560 & 3225) have both had the same problem with their stickers. The problem is that the other items inside the MISB boxes must rub against the sticker sheet and cause them to come off the sheet and stick on other (...)   Bulk Ordering Train windows... My Thoughts

I have a feiling that train people wont be getting their window glass because it is not a piece TLG is currently making. The most recent set to use it was the model team black and yellow helicopter, which is in the special insert from the s@h (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: an update -- and an apology

I agree with Todd on this also. The representative I spoke with gave me the information that LD IS_PLANNING_TO READY BY HOLLIDAY SEASON (CHRISTMAS ANYONE?) So already I have my doubts about this summer planning, and especially on all items being (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) Oh no, that's not what I meant. I meant _What_ exactly is "definitely happening"? not What exactly is _"definitely happening"_? The answer is: We have no _clear_ idea _what_ will be happening. We have only a _vague_ promise. (Not that there's (...) (25 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: an update -- and an apology

(...) Although I generally agree with the optimism expressed here regarding LEGO Direct and what it could eventually become, I have to say that I disagree with the assertion that "definitely happening" couldn't be less vague.
