 Dear LEGO / 1269
Another way to market Lego Bricks —Steve Martin
To Lego Direct (Brad Justus) Brad, I'm an AFOL and an avid LUGNET reader. The topic of Lego Direct has been on a lot of peoples minds and while thinking about it, I had an idea (although not a new one). Have you considered selling Lego Bricks (...)         Re: Another way to market Lego Bricks —Eric Brouwer
I REALLY like this idea. In theory it would be fantastic. But I don't think the market outside of AFOL's would support it. I mean how many "parties could you possibly host? No AFOL's would come. They'd be busy trying to have their own parties. How (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Eric, (...) Utica, MI? Hmm... Well, I think we AFOL's here in Michigan could throw parties for each other, I am sure people like Gary Istok, Larry P, Mark Koesel, you, and I, could have a great time swapping each others inventories and the like. It (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Another way to market Lego Bricks —Larry Pieniazek
I'll be hosting a 'fest once I get my new basement. (which happens to have a house on top but that's not as important as the basement, since that's where my Legoing will be...) (...)      (...) approach. (...) Well, proof is that it already works quite well for a number of products. For instance: My wife is heavily into "scrap booking" (making very elaborate photo albums).       (...) I can see it now... "Want to chat with other adults who enjoy LEGO? Call LEGO-CHAT on 1-800-LEGO-CHAT" Maybe S@H could offer a "discrete" brown paper envelope service? :) Richard (24 years ago, 5-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

I can see it now. Get enough people under you and get a mini van in your favorite lego color. No thanks. (...) Pampered (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Another way to market Lego Bricks —Jasper Janssen
(...) AAAAHHHHH!!! Dear god, no. I would really hate to ahve to stop buying Lego just because they went encouraging spam. (And yes, any sort of MLM encourages spam. Especially of the type you describe) Jasper (24 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Another way to market Lego Bricks —Mark Tarrabain
(...) I, for one, would not be too keen on this idea. For one thing, why would people bother with MLM's when they can buy directly from Lego Direct? The only way would be to not allow people to buy directly from LEGO, but rather, only through their (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Another way to market Lego Bricks —James Brown
(...) Ditto. It's a fine line between pyramid structure and pyramid scheme, and it's very easy for an individual marketter(sp?) to cross, even in a legit structure. James (URL) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)

(...) has (...) You didn't read my original post close enough. The price would be the same as it is now for ordering through S@H. You would just indicate that you bought it because you went someone's party. The person buying the Legos pays the same. (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.dear-lego)
