  Re: www.lugnet.com on boxes

Perhaps can we advertise WWW.LUGNET.COM in our local toy shops? A kind of flyer or mini brochure? Regards and a happy new year to all of us, Regards, Ludo (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: How does Lego sort Lego?

(...) More accurately, several 'small' miracles... Moulding machines drop pieces into storage containers. When the time comes to use a piece in a polybag, the storage container is dumped into a 'feeder' machine on a packing line. On to step 2: (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: How does Lego sort Lego?

(...) Brian, There have been a few descriptions of how the bags are filled, some sort of machine with multiple circular conveyor belts that deliver the parts up to a mixing point (IIRC). The bags are then weight checked to look for errors. The new (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: www.lugnet.com on boxes

(...) Wow, wouldn't that be something! :) But IMO at this point that's a bit much to ask for, especially where official support comes in. A lot more "schmoozing" and probably more partnering on a per-project basis would hafta take place so that (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  How does Lego sort Lego?

When the bricks are first made, they're dropped into large buckets. Then a miracle occurs. Then pieces are very acuratly sorted into polybags. How are the bricks sorted? It would almost have to be automated. If that's the case, could that process be (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Brad Justus' Comments - Why Complain?

(...) trying (...) Yes, I see. (...) True, true. But for the most part a lot of us in cad were just too ticked off at him to see that. Besides, it gave me some practice :) Anyways, he's improved greatly since the whole CFV thing that almost had him (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Are the Accessory Bricks Going to be canceled? to Brad, or lego rep

(...) Actually there is a small picture right next to the base plates that states "Limited Quantities, Order Now". :( Elliot Hyde (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: New Castle Sucks (so far...)

(...) I just wanted to say that I agree that the new castle line may be a lot more juniorized, and I think that those juniorized parts seem to make it more expensive. One of the things I have always looked for in my LEGO purchases (since I was a (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  www.lugnet.com on boxes

Looking at the boxes of the US Star Wars Lego, I noticed two things: 1. German/european boxes don´t have a piece count :( 2. The US boxes have Logo and address of the official Star Wars Fanclub printed on them. It might be an old idea but my (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Brad Justus' Comments - Why Complain?

(...) It probably was sarcasm, but I still see it as highly inappropriate. Like using your cellular during church service at the Notre Dame de Paris or at the St Peter of Rome. (...) I agree. But why bother flaming the clueless ones? They don't (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Mindstorms Wishlist

(...) I wouldn't be surprised. When _I_ did power supply experiments as above, I used a 4.5V light brick (and hoo-boy, does 220V AC through a 4.5V light make a nice bright flash). An RCX is just so much a different cookie in terms of replacement (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Horrible quote from the Scala web catalog

(...) Oddly enough, I've heard, asked, and seen, that women dress more for each other than for men. While I realize that this line could be a special case, it would have been better if TLC could have made it more [typical] like this: "I bought the (...)   Re: Are the Accessory Bricks Going to be canceled? to Brad, or lego rep

(...) Hi Doyle, I'm not a Lego Rep (in this universe :) but my new January 2000 catalog says, "Limited Quantities, All Accessories" on all pages that offer general and Technic accessories (though interestingly not on the Train pages). But.. IIRC (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Feared misconceptions

I actually think that what pulled me into the SW sets was their complexity and abundance of specialty parts! The first set I got was the Snowspeeder, which I was rather impressed with. The set was so well built and detailed that I went out and got (...) (25 years ago, 30-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.starwars)

Re: Are the Accessory Bricks Going to be canceled? to Brad, or lego rep

(...) Doyle, I'm not a Lego rep, but my guess is that the service packs are indeed going to vanish, but in a much better way than supposed -- they're to be replaced by the new (and hopefully wonderful) bulk-order system being developed right now. (25 years ago, 29-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: 4811 Defense Archer!

(...) TLC really needs to figure out why their pages are getting caught up by web caches. From two different machines at work, I see two different US catalogs, one with the new sets, one without. Unfortuanately, the machine which sees the new sets (...) (25 years ago, 29-Dec-99, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Brad Justus' Comments - Why Complain?

(...) I honestly don't think his comment there deserved the harsh reply. Not trying to jump on you, but I just see [his comment] as simple sarcasm used in the context of a flame message alone. I would assume that people here at Lugnet would know we (...) (25 years ago, 29-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: Mindstorms Wishlist

(...) Hmm. Could have been a customer-service problem. Little Timmy's mom calls LEGO Consumer Affairs, reports that little Timmy's RCX doesn't work anymore. Consumer Affairs sends a new one, with a return shipping label so mom can ship back the bad (...) (25 years ago, 29-Dec-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)
