(...) that part (and it's name) come from partsref - we try to use partsref names whenever we can, unless it's for a part that isn't available as a dat yet. But even for X numbers (our custom parts), we will eventually rename them to whatever the (...) (22 years ago, 12-May-02, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

I like the idea of better indexing, and would be happy to incorporate any new method into peeron - now someone just has to write it :) I know that indexing by a non-unique field (which is the part number) is a bad thing - it's just the easiest and (...) Currently, there are three active major part databases out there: Partsref, Peeron Inventories, and the BrickLink Catalog. Pedro, good question: No, I was NOT sure they were LEGO, but now that I have checked the studs, they are NOT imprinted with "LEGO", but rather "TYCO" is imprinted on the very center of the plate.
