Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

How pathetic. And not even funny. What’s the point beside showing you’ve already earned a master degree in sucking up? Here we have a petition, Ben’s letter, an attempt to use the growing influence of AFOLs in order to improve our hobby and to help (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

(...) And we also have a letter of support. Some AFOLs think it's the worst decision LEGO has ever made, while others support LEGO and their right to make decisions about their own products, even if they disagree with them. (...) If opinions are (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

(...) Here is where I have the issue--to *you* it's the worst decision the company ever made. Along with the original letter inferring in the english translation that this petition was from 'all' AFOL's (a problem with translation so we're told now, (...) Hi David, (...) This sentence: "We, the signatories of this letter, form the group of Adult Fans Of LEGO® (AFOLs)." was translated from these german words: "Wir, die Unterzeichner dieses Briefes, sind überwiegend sogenannte AFOLs (Adult Fans Of (...) (...) And THAT highlights why maybe this wasn't done quite correctly. Consider how things might have went if instead of posting what was apparently final text and asking for sigs, if it had went like this instead (everything posted to JUST color and (...)   Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

(...) You're right Larry, that would have been a much more better way. What do you think? Is it worth a second try? Leg Godt! René (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

(...) I dunno. At this point it might be very confusing. PS... plesae check your email at the address that you have registered in as your posting address (and encourage JoJo to do the same). If that email isn't a valid one to receive email on, fix (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

(...) For one thing, you're mistaking LEGO's efforts to grow a segment of their market with "influence." For another, it's NOT still a possibility. Jake has stated in no uncertain terms that the new colors are permanent. And the company has invested (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

  surrender, you're surrounded!

Hello David! There can be no color debate thread without you, right? ;) (...) OF COURSE it is to ME. Who do you think did type this? My CAT?? (...) In fact I'm afraid there is not much thinking at all involved with those posts. Different interests (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego) !

Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

Ooooh! :( What a pessimistic AFOL you are, William! (...) Yes, they're trying to grow a segment of their market. That gives "us" influence as customers, little as it may be. Did we get SYSTEM-color packs with gray plates and bricks through Jake, or (...) (20 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: surrender, you're surrounded!

(...) The issue wasn't explicitly stated as such. The issue was explicitly stated, in the original post, as coming from the AFOL community, not just you. (...) ANd you should, indeed, state your opinion, but make it abundantly clear that it is your (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

(...) Sure, and I have no problem with that. I DO have a problem with the suck-ups telling the people that are trying to tell TLC they made a mistake to keep quiet about it. Sucking up all the time with no dissent is a sure way to grenade a company (...) (20 years ago, 21-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: surrender, you're surrounded!

(snip) Bottom line--it's a matter of opinion. One opinion is okay with the color change, the other is not. This sounds like a debate that ranks up there with politics and abortion. The German AFOL community has been most vocal about this, and (...) (20 years ago, 28-Jan-05, to lugnet.color)
