Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) In one day? Only about $400. Unless you count when I spent about $600 on ebay auctions in one day-- I just didn't WIN them all that day, so it was kinda spread out more :) As for the most expensive set? Only about $150, I think-- for a 6067 (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) Well, he did say "spent in one day", so I'd think that $600 counts. Other than the $1200 order for Mario, I'm thinking the most I've done in one day is about $600, but I'd have to dig through my receipts. (...) Hmm, most expensive set? (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) Oh gosh no. Just checking Ebay for semi-recent sales reveals someone bought a 6067 (Guarded Inn) MISB for $232.50, a 6075 (yellow castle) for $207.50, a 6081 for $155.50, and an MISB 6090 for $152.50 :) And I seem to remember an MISB 6086 (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) I've been watching that one (a different one?) that has 1 hour and 26 minutes to go as I type this, it's at $208, and it's in Germany, BUT....it has PayPal (and you understand I'm only mentioning this because I'm cheap and won't spend that (...)   Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) Huh-- I just don't see it for some reason, unless it's on a separate ebay site? Searches for "6086" "lego castle" "black knights castle" "dungeon masters" all came up nada for the one you're describing... But yeah, it's certainly not unheard (...)   Re: Most ever spent on Lego

I dunno about you guys, but I am truly an addict. Last week, my girlfriend pointed out that I spend $1-2K on Lego per month and I thought I had really curbed my appetite for the stuff. Back when you could find more older sets, there were days I'd (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) Doh! My brain boggled at 6086 going for over $200 (I got mine recently for $66) and apparently flipped its switch to a more logical candidate - 6*2*86, Skull's Eye Schooner, which I've seen go over $300 on numerous occasions. Bruce (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.general)

Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) You just need to be patient and sharp eyed. I got a 6086 for I think like $90 or so. I also got a mixed bag of stuff with much of a 6086, a 6277 cutter (complete), and some other castle and pirate bits for $90 or so. The 6086 I got even came (...)   Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) You need to total up the size of your collection. You are either way over paying, or you have one of the larger collections. Frank (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) resell? (...) Hmm, hard to remember really, but yesterday I spent approximately 800 US dollars at S@H :) I will have many, many of those old accessory packs, not to mention lots of black slopes... Sometimes it's good to live in Europe ;) /Elin (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: More info

(...) Patience? With this group? That's not one of the characteristics we tend to display here on LUGNET (just in case you recently joined the fun). (snippage going on) (...) No offense intended but exactly who are you? That is to say, what is your (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) Somewhere around $1000 is the most I've dropped in one day, and that was a while back... I've slowed down a lot from 2 years ago. There was a period of about 6 months where I dropped an easy 2 grand every month, probably more. Right now, I (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: More info (Who IS Jimmy?)

Good question Greg, i too would like to know the details on this mysterious Mr. Park and his relation to the LEGO gods! -R (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) I wouldn't say I'm overspending. I generally get pretty good deals on the stuff I do get. As to total size of my collection. . . well, I haven't met physically meet anyone with a bigger collection, but I hear stories of some people. When you (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: More info (Who IS Jimmy?)

(...) Funny, there used to be a time on RTL when nearly everybody knew who I was. But it seems all those people are gone now except for Todd and a handful of others. I don't work for Lego, though it would be great if I could because then I could (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: More info (We all know Jimmy)

(...) Jimmy, I did recognize your name. And I do remember a few of your posts from way back before even Shiri Dori came on board. It’s just that I was wondering what specifically was your relation to TLC! -R P.S. People have NO clue who I am, and (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: More info (We all know Jimmy)

(...) Yeah, I think we're all kinda wondering that. You don't have to tell us what your relationship to them is. Then again, without any additional info, I (and probably many others) will take most info with a grain of salt. (BTW, it's interesting (...) (23 years ago, 4-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Most ever spent on Lego

(...) I think only $500. (?!) surprising. But I then split it up and gave away the LEGO. At peak, in 1995, I know I was spending about $1,500 a month. I remember the shock each time I got my AmEx bill. I had zero discipline. I think I spent at that (...) (23 years ago, 5-May-01, to lugnet.castle)

Re: More info (Who IS Jimmy?)

(...) Thanks for clearing that up. I'm satisfied. Now we can all return to patiently but anxiously awaiting the "big announcemnent" in July. (insert winking smiley face emoticon here if you're in to that kind of silliness) G. (23 years ago, 5-May-01, to lugnet.castle)
