Based on http://news.lugnet.com/lego/direct/?n=5237 and

15-16 months.  With most releases sticking around for at least 2 years, this

I'll follow up my own post and also express my amazement that 10000 Guarded Inn
and 10039 Black Falcon's Fortress sold out sometime in the last couple of days.
At least the Guarded Inn re-release has been out for a bit longer.  I suppose
this might be the result of shoppers snapping up the soon-to-be classic light
gray pieces.

On a positive note, I guess this also eliminates another couple possible sources
of confusion, wondering whether you'll get new or classic gray pieces when
ordering a pre-2004 set.
