Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) My understanding of Castle World is a group of people with a set story-line from admins...and then try to recreate different sequences of actions... ie sig-figs and story-lines based on a set of parameters. Sure there are stories, but I think (...) (22 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) This is my main objection. From my experience on other message boards and newsgroups, when there is too much compartmentalization, you suddenly get a whole lot of discussion on why this or that post belongs in this subgroup or that, which (...) (22 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) [Dons flame suit] Personally, I've felt rather repelled from castle for my complete opposite viewpoint. Stories are ok, but that's not what I come to Lugnet for. If I want a good story, I'll go pick one up at the library. And over the last (...) (22 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

<snip> (...) <and another snip> I must clear up a point here. CW is a group of people (the balladeers) with their own storylines, controls, constraints, etc. The CW Admin is more of an update service than an actual admin. (and we haven't even been (...) (22 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

In lugnet.castle, David Eaton writes: <SNIP> (...) That is your opinion, and I shall respect that. Not everyone likes an online story, its just the way the world works. However, I'd like to point out that most all of the subgroups of lugnet (with (...) (22 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Is lugnet.castle the place for stories?

(...) Well, it's not that I dislike stories. Far from it. It's merely that in the Lego world it tends to be that a creation inspires a relating story. Hence, I might build X, and create a backstory to enhance it. That's great; I'm all for it. But (...) (22 years ago, 22-Mar-02, to lugnet.castle)
