Re: Anyone working on any Massive castle projects???

(...) Si. (...) Yes, but here is why I resorted to using black: 1) It's available in the 3033 tubs, which makes it available on Brickbay at a descent price. 2) I can order black slopes from S@H. 3) Black arches are a lot more available than white or (...)   Re: Light'Ader

(...) Thanks :) No reason - I didn't really think about it before now. I guess I like stuff by the water because you get a lot of variety that way. Having a stream flow by a MOC can really spice things up, PLUS, you figure that most people in the (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Whoops!

(...) I used MLCad's measuring thing: It's 5 feet by 5 feet, aprox. (...) Man, it sounds like that Brickfest was pretty darn cool. I wish I could have made it there! (...) Well, there are actualy only wall-walk doors on the sides facing the walls. (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Light'Ader

(...) Thanks. I notice that a lot of work can go into the landscape around the MOC, and it sets the tone nicely for the MOC itself. I usually don't have th patience for it though ... Must ... get ... to ... MOC ... instead :) -- Pawel (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Light'Ader

(...) Yeah ... I've been thinking about that. I figured that a lighthouse itself probably doesn't need a defense system, but once I start builing the port and foundry around it, that's when some major defense mechanisms will start falling into (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Light'Ader

(...) Thanks Jason! Yeah ... there was just something not right about them. In a weird way, I'm of the belief that every MOC is intended to come out in some way, and it's up to me to realize that potential. That's why projects take so long - there (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

WOW! that is truely fantastic Jeff. I love the attention to detail, and the realistic architecture of the hall you _must_ finish it :) -- James Stacey ---...--- www.minifig.co.uk #925 - I'm a citizen of Legoland travelling Incommunicado "Jeff (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Pawel, Wow, great, I love the lighthouse, adding the water was a very nice touch. George (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Whoops! (Castle Walls)

(...) That's actually a good solution, but I don't have enough black slopes to make it work large scale on my castle. I had to settle for using double-slopes: (URL) am pretty sold on modularity for building castles - I think I will put a FAQ about (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Light'Ader

(...) Thanks - the price of the white 1x1s really went down with the introduction of the Lego Mosaic. Now we just need bulk plates at S@H and we are set :) -- Pawel (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Whoops! (Castle Walls)

Nice Pawel, the pics remind me of the sheer size and bulk of your walls. Have you thought of creating machicolations (the hold to drop stuff on people at the base of the walls) in your battlements, since they stick out from the edge of the wall? (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Whoops! (Castle Walls)

(...) Hmmm ... I haven't given that much thought yet. It's a good idea, but a little too late to implement on this castle. BTW - check out this site as a great reference guide: (URL) Pawel (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC: Wizard's Tower

(...) Chris, Wow, fabulous! Great use integrating the baseplate. It sure looks likea wizard lives there. George (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Whoops! (Castle Walls)

(...) Although this was in response to Pawel, it reminded me: I had forgotten to put the putlog holes in the walls! For a while, I considered adding machicolations but then I decided that if battle threatened the Citadel I would just add hoardings (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Light'Ader

(...) Hehe. The little details (also known as greeblies to the space heads) are what really makes a model look great. It's the things you wouldn't expect to see, like the clams and starfish on the rocks and the sea foam, that really makes a model (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Whoops! (Castle Walls)

(...) Well, the hoardings are done. They can be seen here: (URL) stupid cleric stood where he could get hit by the archers... Hmm... Bad idea. Some notes about the hoardings: They were wooden platforms built like I have them in the picture, and (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Light'Ader

Great job Pawel! I love the edited picture, makes it look all that more real. After looking at the real ones though, and then looking back, the only thing I would suggest is maybe make it a little taller? maybe it's just how they look in the pics (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Light'Ader

(...) Thanks! Yeah ... I thought about making it a little taller, and based on your advice, I think I will (hmmm ... need 1x2 white bricks). I guess, looking back on those other buildings, I underestimated the true size of it. I will be adding an (...) (23 years ago, 10-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: MOC: Wizard's Tower

(...) Please, tell me where did you find this plate (set number, i mean) And which sets did you use to make this GREAT castle? (except for the harry potter's, i already have them) thanks Manue (23 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.castle.org.cw, lugnet.castle)
