Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

(...) Thanks! It would indeed be too expensive to make a huge MOC with this design: Both the grey 2x2x3 slopes and the grey 1x2 tiles are fairly expensive parts in large quantities. (...) Unfortunately there isn't anything to see: It's just filled (...) (20 years ago, 15-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: lattice windows

Hi Daan, (...) Well, it's mine :) (URL) used this technique for my Tonquedec castle. (...) I really like those windows. I tried also to use the 8x8 plate, but I didn't like the 2x2 square in the middle. You find a very good way to mask it. I hope (...) (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Hello James Stacey, thanks for passing on the name of Kev Hall. I will try to find out if he is indeed 'my man'. If so, his name comes in the "readwindowslattice.txt". Thanks for the compliments. Daan Bargerbos ----- Original Message ----- From: (...) (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Holy hello to you to Mike, thanks for your compliments. (from the time I was a kid I love the character of Batman, and being a minister in the Protestant Church in Holland I found the beginning of your post very amusing: "Holy Windows Batman!!!" (...) (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: lattice windows

Hi Marc, thanks for the compliments (now there is even a 'bargerboswindow'...) I like your church very much. You've got to use a lot of brown tiles there. But it really gives a 'wooden' touch to it all. Also the cross on the tower is a nice touch. (...) (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Snippage (...) Snippage (...) Snippage (...) Holy Windows Batman!!! I really like the two example above. Very nice hack. I find LEGO has such a limited selection of windows. I'll definitely add these to my tool box. THanks for posting. Mike (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: lattice windows

(...) Wow - Those are great windows! I had been using the 8x8 lattice for windows, but it never occured to me to put stained glass in them. What an improvement: (2 URLs) When (if) I ever get my (URL) church> finished, I will be sure to give you (...) (20 years ago, 14-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Castle Gate and Castle Corner Tower

(...) Excellent use of 75° slopes, nice stone buildup on the ground, full brick trees, a portcullis made of plates, only true grays and brown--the list goes on and on. These are some great castle MOC's. Keep up the good work and welcome to LUGNET! (...) (20 years ago, 13-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Ballista

Hello all, I haven't posted in LUGNET for a while, but here is my latest MOC: (URL) It was inspired by Nathan Wells and his smaller ballista using the dino tails. Here is a link to the gallery: (URL) PLMKWYT! Chris Perron (20 years ago, 13-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

(...) Wow, thanks for all those sources. Looking at the original Japanese inspiration, would it be too uncouth to refer to vignettes as the haiku of LEGO building? I really dig the simplicity of the building style, and absolutely how much (...) (20 years ago, 13-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New Vignettes - Princess Bride and the Matrix

(...) Hey Brian, I'm not sure where the idea originated (don't say SW Storytellers or violence may ensue ;) ), but a recent spate of these on Classic-Castle.com was inspired by noticing similar creations by three Japanese builders: Makoto: (URL) (...) (20 years ago, 12-Oct-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: New Vignettes - Princess Bride and the Matrix

Bravo Lenyu!, you've really nailed this vignette-form. I think the Matrix scene is my favorite because of the dynamic action, but the library is a close second. Lenny, I love how easily identified these are. I think that's a testament to how well you captured the scene in each one. Somewhat inspiring for me to try some myself. Hey Lenny, these are great! (URL) I love the bed design. Did you paint over a pirate babe torso?!?!? One critique--this is cheating a bit on the 6x6 footprint.
