I attended my first BrikWars game this past Saturday and had a blast! (...) Sandstone was more of a construction material in the Middle East than Europe. However, most weathered stone is a lot "warmer" (yellow, orange, red) than standard issue Old Gray (and New Gray is actually shifted to the cool end of the (...) (21 years ago, 10-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle)

Review and pictures from COLTC's GATS show last weekend

Hello LUGNET members, Last weekend COLTC put on our largest single display (25'x25') at our local GATS in Columbus Ohio. And it turned out great! We received our first official 1st place win during the GATS in Columbus. Hopefully a start of (...)   Re: Elf

(...) Wow, Isaac, that's an awesome helmet! It's very distinctive, but with the top and side holes it also looks like it belongs with TLC helmets. Great job. I understand your motivation for showing it on a plain white minifig but I'd be interested (...) (21 years ago, 10-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: Official KK and HP 2004 pictures

(...) Somewhat, I guess. A lot of castles were built with sandstone, and while tan is the closest match, it wasn't introduced until 1997, IIRC, which would put it just a bit too late to be used in any of the European-style Castle sets. Yellow was (...) (21 years ago, 10-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle)

Hi all, I've posted this up elsewhere on the internet already.   Re: Official KK and HP 2004 pictures

(...) Gray is lot more realistic than bright yellow! :-) I wouldn't mind a castle in one of the "sand" colors. Or even a properly done white-washed castle. (...) (...) Which, when you think about it, isn't very realistic. How many European castles are white? How many LEGO castles are? Besides, as long as both greys are still perma-changed, I'm not sure how popular grey castles would be with AFOLs right now. (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Official KK and HP 2004 pictures

(...) The Dragon Masters were the first Castle sub-theme that I saw as being anywhere near as good as the combined Robin Hood Guys(tm) sub-themes. All of the basic castles just seemed kinda bland to me. Grey walls, more grey walls, grey walls with (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Official KK and HP 2004 pictures

(...) TLC has plenty of fantasy in all of their product line. IMHO, all of the castle line is fantasy, from it's inception onward. I never saw much realism in the line, more of a child-like representation of what we all dream life of a knight would (...) (21 years ago, 9-Feb-04, to lugnet.castle)
