(...) copy and make a new part for 3464, name it like 3464lgeo or something. when l3p coverts it part 3464lgeo wont be replaced with lg_3461. hope that helps (21 years ago, 30-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Povray with LGEO changes part 3464 into 3461

When trying to render set 386 using LGEO I noticed that the wheels with stub axles (part 3464) were replaced with helicopter rotors (part 3461). I find some postings about this dating 2 years ago. Is there a solution or workaround for this already? (...) (21 years ago, 29-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: HDRI and radiosity

(...) Hi again, I received the file and will try to use it with my next picture. I will let you know if it works for me. I have explained some things about hdri and povray here: (URL) If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. If I can (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  Re: HDRI and radiosity

(...) I've forwarded Orion's email with the file and instructions on how to use it to you. I hope it helps somehow. What program are you rendering this with? POV-Ray, I presume? How are you doing the HDRI with POV? -Mike (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  Re: HDRI and radiosity

I set ambience in the critical pictures to a higher level without any good result. Only if I use (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  Re: HDRI and radiosity

I have a file around here somewhere that Orion once sent me with lowered reflection (Jeroen's colors, for the digitalbricks radiosity). However, if you're looking to use only (...)   HDRI and radiosity

Hi again, I'm still working on a good way to use hdri with MLCad pictures. And I found out that grey is a "bad" color. Pictures with grey models are always too dark. I can only fix this if I place additional light sources. I don't know the reason (...) (21 years ago, 25-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  Re: Custom colours and POVRay

  Re: Custom colours and POVRay

Cool, thats a very hassle-free way of doing it, thanks. I assume that as the colour specs are included with each part it will transfer to another installation of MLCad/LDedit/LDraw with no problems. I can also get rid of the troublesome custom (...) (21 years ago, 23-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Custom colours and POVRay

(...) In stead of using color 95 (which L3P doesn't understand because it is a custom color) you can use color 0x026E99C9 which is understood by most programs. In the color dialog simply enter 0x026E99C9 as the color number. To calculate a number (...) (21 years ago, 23-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Custom colours and POVRay

I have made a model using custom colour Medium Blue, I have given the colour the number 95 and the RGB value r110 g153 b201. I found both these figures from one of the colour chart on the net but I can't remember which one. The model gives an error (...) (21 years ago, 23-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: some experiments with HDRI and PovRay

(...) FULL STOP!!!!! sry for double-posting, but it IS possible to use HDRI in POV-Ray. You have to have MLPOV! (Patch for POv-Ray 3.5) Further information: (URL) ask me if they can be treated like normal POV-Files. I don't even have MLPov... (21 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: some experiments with HDRI and PovRay

Hm I have googled a bit and found out that HDRI is a shader for 3DSMAX, which is a little bit to extreme for me. This program is so strong, that it flattens me. (*cough*) The images are really cool, but it requires much more knowledge of the (...) (21 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)
