Hm I have googled a bit and found out that HDRI is a shader for 3DSMAX, which is
a little bit to extreme for me. This program is so strong, that it flattens me.
(*cough*) The images are really cool, but it requires much more knowledge of the
renderer.

I am shure that it is much better than radiosity, but the disadvantage is, that
animations in 3DSMAX arn't as easy as in Pov-Ray.

Can somebody find out if it is possible to use that shader for gamersMAX, the
little&free brother of 3DSMAX?

(...) FULL STOP!!!!! sry for double-posting, but it IS possible to use HDRI in POV-Ray. You have to have MLPOV! (Patch for POv-Ray 3.5) Further information: (URL) ask me if they can be treated like normal POV-Files. I don't even have MLPov... (20 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) Pardon my ignorance but what's an hdr file? I couldn't find any mention of hdr in the POV-Ray documentation (20 years ago, 22-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)
