  LPub support for external POV post processors (was Sand Green)
 
Mike, I like the external POV post processor idea a lot, although I'll try not to use it as a catch all for denying LPub enhancements ;-) It would be a command line mechanism with command line arguments. Mike, LPub has always used shadowless lights for building instructions. 2.0.1.5 also has the ability to override ambient, diffuse and specular reflections default values created by L3P. I now turn reflections off, set ambient to 0.7 and diffuse to (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst, lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) LPub already post processes the POV files quite a bit, so doing some more might not be a bad thing. I've thought about providing for a list of simple text substitutions, that are blindly applied to the POV file, but these would be limited to (...) Is there a way to add Sand Green (and other custom colors for that matter) to the colors.inc file to avoid this? Or some other (...) OK this is the second time I'm giving rendering a shot and once again hit an new wall. I have everything but this L3PA0 file installed. Everytime I install the file it keeps telling me I have out of date file "OLEAUT32.DLL" Whats this about? Well (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

I've downloaded Megapov and plugged in the extra code but all I get is a black image. For that matter, I get a black image for every file I run that has MegaPov enabled. Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. -Orion (22 years ago, 14-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Hi all, A few days after my post about MegaPov 0.7 a new version was released, compatible with POV-Ray 3.5. So to a certain point that post was a bit pointless. I have downloaded MegaPov 1.0 (MP1.0) for both Macintosh and Windows but only tested it (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) Well, you shouldn't actually replace the definitions but place them after line 16 (#declare BUMPNORMAL = normal { bumps 0.01 scale 20 } and before the line saying: # declare 07071 = sqrt(0.5);. (...) Thanks! (...) Well, I rendered a model by James Mathis (ICE train) with radiosity and camera-blur and Mega-Pov + POV-Ray 3.1 was SEVEN TIMES FASTER than POV-Ray 3.5! I also liked the overal picture rendered by MegaPov better, a bit softer if (...) (22 years ago, 30-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)
