Here's another way, but it involves hacking a bit in the actual .dat code.
In the main model file, insert the first brick of the sub model where you
want it. Save the file. Then open the file in notepad, type "0 FILE
guardhouse.dat" (or the like) right before that piece. Also type in a 0 FILE
command at the beginning of the file. Save as an .mpd.
Now reopen the file in MLCad. There are two models in the mpd file, and you
can work on building the guardhouse as a separate model. When finished, go
back into the code and delete all the 0 FILE statements. Save as your
original file (.dat extension, or if you like, .ldr).
