  Unofficial Parts Update

In another minor lurch toward an automated parts system, the Unofficial Parts page has been updated. You can see it at: (URL). There are about a dozen files listed, and the file-details have been moved off to separate pages. If you look at the (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) And conversation with Dan & Jennifer has reminded of a third: 3. The part names (actually, all the data) should be cleansed for HTML. Specifically, the ampersands should be coded as &. Steve (23 years ago, 20-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) In Netscape 4.5 I just see raw HTML when I follow the links (IE 4.0 seems to work though, but it's not my browser of choice). Chris (23 years ago, 20-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Unofficial Parts Update

(...) OK. I'm guessing that's because the detail pages have names like parts.3001.html. I noticed that IE 5.5 displays the page correctly, but the '.html' is cut off in the URL box. I'll get back in, and change the names to parts_3001.html. OK, try (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Unofficial Parts Update

(...) Nope - still just shows me the HTML source - and the .html extension is not included in the URL box. Same problem in Netscape 4.7 from different PC. If I cut an paste that HTML to a file, then I can open that file OK in Netscape. Chris (23 years ago, 21-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Steve: (...) www.ldraw.org is configured, so only files whoose names end with ".html" (basically) will be treated as HTML documents. At the same time the server is configured to insist that requests for documents should not contain ".html". This is (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Unofficial Parts Update

(...) That sounds cool and reasonable, except that (AFAIK) the files *do* have .html extensions, there are no redirects involved. See, I'll just login to the server, and cd to the unofficial/parts dir, and do an ls -l, and you'll see that all the (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

(...) OK, we've got that (now). (...) Are you saying that the server is removing the ".html" from the response? So what I'm seeing in IE is expected behavior? Steve (23 years ago, 21-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Hi, I am really glad to see that we're making great strides forward with the parts tracker and the parts review process. Any chance of getting an approximate date for the next Official Parts Release? (23 years ago, 7-Oct-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
