LDraw MOTM winner for November 2000

Hi all, The winner of the November 2000 LDraw Model of the Month is Jay Jacinto with his cool "Ice Rat" model. Great work, Jay. See it at: (URL) Terry K -- legoverse@yahoo.com (And if you want your model to be in next months competition, get it to (...)   Sphere tesselation

Does anyone know how to perform an arbitrary sphere tesselation which ends up with the tesselation used by the LDraw sphere primitives when set to a detail level of 16 (16 being the number of facets around the circumference at the equator). I'll (...) (24 years ago, 9-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Parts license

I'd like to propose an official license for the LDraw parts, I think this is something that has been mentioned before but we didn't get very far in the past. This is important now that there are plans to create am LDraw CD-ROM and I need this (...) (24 years ago, 17-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev) !

  Re: Sphere tesselation

(...) As far as I know, the sphere is incorrectly tesselated in Ldraw, because it has non-planar quads. So if there is ever going to be a matematical tesselation, which aproaches this form, it won't surelly be a sphere, more like "spheroid", similar (...) (24 years ago, 11-Sep-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Regarding a separate LCAD domain, why can't you simply make a sub-domain in ldraw.org like what was done with mlcad.ldraw.org? ((URL) that isn't possible, I heard from someone who said that some place offers domain names for about $15/year. I'll (...) (24 years ago, 18-Dec-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)
