next parts vote/update - when??? —Franklin W. Cain
Steve, When are we going to have another parts update? We do have quite a lot of DAT files in the queue. (I've got over 60 files in my "to be voted on" queue on my PC's hard drive.) What needs to be done to make this happen? What can I do to help (...) (24 years ago, 30-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Democracy (Was: next parts vote/update - when???) —Tore Eriksson
What about a little less democracy? Like in the days when James was the obvious Leader. Let's say one trusted authority, Steve, Lars, anyone-else? looks at the part one at the time. Parts with obvious flaws set aside. Then run L3P -check and exclude (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Democracy (Was: next parts vote/update - when???) —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) Almost all aspects of a part can be brushed upon later, should a faulty part be officialized. Bow-tie quads, syntax errors, header errors and bad names. All can easily be fixed later on. There is one aspect, however, which simply cannot be (...) (24 years ago, 31-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Democracy (Was: next parts vote/update - when???) —Jeremy H. Sproat
(...) Um, me too. It's extremely frustrating to work with some parts in the library due to these inconsistencies -- immediate examples include <part:30079> and several minifig accessories, not to mention the goofy assortment of rotation axes among (...)          Re: Democracy (Was: next parts vote/update - when???) —Erik Olson
(...) Has this been suggested before: I understand that altering a zero point or rotation orientation will break models. But what if a new part were assigned at that time, and the old number referenced the new number (with appropriate transformation (...) (24 years ago, 12-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: next parts update ----> *when* ??? —Franklin W. Cain
The replies I've seen posted seem to have taken a turn away from the topic I had wanted to address: to wit, _when_ we are planning to have a new parts update. If I can do anything to assist in making a new update happen, _please_ let me know. As of (...) (24 years ago, 11-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: next parts update ----> *when* ??? —Leonardo Zide
(...) There won't be any more part updates as they were done previously, the basic idea is to be able to run a program that will check for new parts and download them automatically and have the complete.exe package updated at a fixed time interval. (...) (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: next parts update ----> *when* ??? —Chris Dee
(...) Will parts in the pipeline (already sent to Steve at partsref@home.com) be included, or should I resend these to partsref@ldraw.org ?          Re: next parts update ----> *when* ??? —Tim Courtney
(...) A couple of us mentioned talking to Steve and sharing the load of the parts update process for the 400 or so parts that are in the pipeline, because that's a very daunting task. More later, when we've discussed updates more. -Tim (24 years ago, 13-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: next parts update ----> *when* ??? —Steve Burge
How is this going to affect updates to the Partsref Database on LugNet? (24 years ago, 19-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: next parts update ----> *when* ??? —Steve Bliss
(...) Hopefully, Partsref will be updated more frequently, with new parts being listed soon after they are added to the LDraw parts library. Optimally, an automatic feed would be set up, so the changes would occur in Partsref ASAP. Steve (24 years ago, 21-Feb-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)
