What about a little less democracy? Like in the days when James was the • obvious Leader. Let's say one trusted authority,
Steve, Lars, anyone-else? looks at the part one at the time. Parts with • obvious flaws set aside. Then run L3P -check and
exclude parts with critical errors, like "1-3-2-4-quads". Then simply • officialize those that passed the tests. Or sent
to a Header Guru that formats the headers according to the guidelines before • officializing. Of course, mistakes will be
done, but they can be corrected the next update. I think the obvious drawbacks • with this procedure is outweighed by the
drawback of having so many unofficial parts pending.

This could be a temporary solution to get back in pace with the updates, or
from now on if it turns out more effective.

I've discussed with Steve about a new method of doing the parts update.  He
wants to change it into a different system without a vote - ie small group of
people who inspect and approve - and allow parts into updates as soon as they're
approved.  We have to do a bit of structuring the org first (which we have
decided on, waiting for an announcement to be posted) and then we can/will
attack that system.

Eventually parts updates will go a lot smoother, and parts will be officialized
easier and quicker.

About the org, I can't go into more detail until we've formulated an
announcement, and I hope that happens soon.
