I've discussed with Steve about a new method of doing the parts update. He
wants to change it into a different system without a vote - ie small group of
people who inspect and approve - and allow parts into updates as soon as they're
approved. We have to do a bit of structuring the org first (which we have
decided on, waiting for an announcement to be posted) and then we can/will
attack that system.
Eventually parts updates will go a lot smoother, and parts will be officialized
easier and quicker.
About the org, I can't go into more detail until we've formulated an
announcement, and I hope that happens soon.
