Re: parts i plan to do

(...) Good advice, Chris. I would like to also point out that many of the parts in that list have complex shapes that would require type 5 optional lines to have them look good. So Jonathan, you really need to have a good understanding of type 5 (...) (26 years ago, 28-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: part: panel 1 x 2 x 1 with black grille pattern

(...) Your method also makes the pattern show up in wire-frame mode. Ideally, all the current parts should be changed to use the same method! Anyone want to take the challenge? --Bram Bram Lambrecht / o o \ BramL@juno.com (...) (26 years ago, 28-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: part: panel 1 x 2 x 1 with black grille pattern

i accually pulled the pattern straight of the 1 x 2 brick with black grille pattern because the patterened surfaces are the same size (26 years ago, 27-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: parts i plan to do

An impressive list - good luck. As I think you know (but for other's info) the Wizard's hat is done (see Tracked Parts Page) and will be in the next voting. Could I please ask three things - 1) please enter the parts into the tracked parts page, as (...) (26 years ago, 27-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: part: panel 1 x 2 x 1 with black grille pattern

Good work on this one, but I might suggest using quads instead of rect.dat for the black lines (does James' pattern use these?). Black rect.dat's have dark grey edge lines around them, and I don't thik there is any dark grey on this pattern. Here's (...) (26 years ago, 27-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: part: boat mast base 4 x 4

(...) would (...) Jonathan, you are on the right track here, but as the notches are an important feature of the boat mast, you should work on adding them (I'll give you some hints later).   Re: Soccer ball pattern

(...) Are you sure about that? Surely, in England they use the term "football", and I would guess that they use the same word in Australia. (...) Sorry, I didn't understand this sentence. (...) This doesn't convince me. Fredrik (26 years ago, 27-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Soccer ball name

(...) I don't know for sure if "soccer" is used in Australia or not, but in either case, isn't "soccer" guaranteed not to be ambiguous, unlike "football" or "fussball"? In Brasil, do you say "football" or "soccer"? If you don't say "soccer," what (...) (26 years ago, 27-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Part Numbering Crisis in LDraw

(...) I concur. Part of the beauty and flexibility of LDraw is that you can model with parts in colors that those parts don't come in. Once we start down the road of having parts hard coded only in the color(s) they really exist in, we limit our (...) (26 years ago, 27-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

[lugnet.cad removed from Newsgroups header] (...) Yes, it's fairly easy to write an HTTP daemon in Perl. Pre-forking and load balancing and shared memory for optimal usage is a little more difficult.   Re: Quality of authored parts

Re: Modeling without the real element -- bad

(...) Jonathan, I don't really want to get into the parts stuff, but could you possibly use proper capitalisation in your posts? Your posts are hard on the eyes, and that really isn't necessary. Thank you. Jasper (26 years ago, 27-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
