MAX2DAT isn't really meant to be a comprehensive part authoring tool... it's easy to build simple objects (like a 2x2 tile or 1x1 round plate) directly in LEdit with primatives... but objects like complex technic pieces, wheels, etc often have (...) Hello, Ok guys, I already announced that I coded such a tool in Java. At present, only one Ldrawer has asked for the code. In fact, it's an alpha release. Thus, I should find beta testers first. On my system, 2409.dat is dated June 23, 1997. Which would put it in the right range for being in James Jessiman's final part-update, LP97-14. I'm not seeing this on www.ldraw.org (I didn't look *that* hard), but you can get it from James' website, (...) (25 years ago, 30-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

I have ended up in a place with _no_ DOS and MS-Win** systems, so I can't get to compile the updated versions of the MPD Builder and the MPD Splitter. Can I get somebody to compile these two programs and send me the binaries? I think DOS versions (...) (25 years ago, 30-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

I agree with Chris. Putting color names in parts just seems wrong to me. Isn't the gray notchless version used in modern sets such as the wildwest miningish set (bandit's hideaway?) and for overhead crane rails in 4555? I could be wrong. But I'd (...) (25 years ago, 30-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

There are commands in 3DS and 3DSMAX to "unify" normals (normals are what we're discussing... the vector that points perpendicular to a face, indicating which side is "out", which side is shaded or rendered)... i would assume there is documentation (...) Before you commit the part names containing _blue_ or _grey_, I think I am right in saying that the version without the notches exists in grey too.
