  Re: Proposal for Revised Memorial

(...) It was my understanding that 'ldraw.org' would be registered with at least two "name servers". So anyone trying to access ldraw.org would have that request resolved to the correct IP address - which would be the hugin server. (I hope I (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Proposal for Revised Memorial

(...) I'd agree with you, except that TLG ships composite elements which also come apart, such as minifig torso/arms/hands/head assemblies (not that I think L- CAD is going to start releasing shortcut files like those particular TLG elements). I (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Organizing the Site Revamp

I need to know what areas of this site people will be expecting in the future or can possibly anticipate so I can make all the image links at one time if possible. This is because its a heck of a lot easier than going back and doing a new one like (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Proposal for Revised Memorial

(...) Just for reference, pair gives 40mb and an unlimited number of potential e-mail accounts, although only one is an actual pop-type account. But by using procmail or something similar you could have webmaster@ldraw.org forwarded to bob@home.com (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: [meta] Subject Headers (was Re: Lugnet.cad.dat heirarchy)

Exactly. The subject line matters more to people getting the messages by e- mail than it does to people using a newsreader. I'm not sure about people using the web interface, because some pages are threaded and some aren't. So I guess web-users (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

RE: [meta] Subject Headers (was Re: Lugnet.cad.dat heirarchy)

Those of use who choose to use email (or can't get newsgroup access) would appreciate having useful headers. It also makes it easier to follow messages that have been saved away due to useful content. --- Dave Hylands Email: DHylands@creo.com 3700 (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: [meta] Subject Headers (was Re: Lugnet.cad.dat heirarchy)

(...) Maybe John means on output (writing/sending) more than on input (reading)... At least that's how I'd interpret the suggestion...It's certainly OK to change the Subject line on a whim when the topic of the thread changes direction. Makes later (...)   Re: Proposal for Revised Memorial

(...) I believe Osiris (my provider) is slightly cheaper. Well, that depends on how much space pair.com gives with its $6/mo accounts. Osiris gives 15mb for $5.00/month and one email address (additional $10/yr or something like that). Anyways, it (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) That's the thing that automatically sends email to an address like from a form or something on a site, right? (...) Ok.. I think there should be addresses such as: webmaster@ldraw.org info@ldraw.org help@ldraw.org ..and possibly.. (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

[meta] Subject Headers (was Re: Lugnet.cad.dat heirarchy)

  Re: New newsgroup lugnet.cad.dev

Todd, I have the same problem. I signed up for L-CAD with e-mail john_vanzwieten@msn.com, but since then outgoing messages are sent with john_vanzwieten@email.msn.com. Would you unsubscribe me. The server would also not accept a message from me, (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Lugnet.cad.dat heirarchy

Hey, folks. Now that we're a newsgroup, we should pay more attention to the subject line. (...) I tried to send an extended post on this subject, but I'm not sure where it went. It was basically along the same lines as Steve, though. I would only (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: New newsgroup lugnet.cad.dev

Help Todd, Could you unsubscribe me from the dev mailling list? I went to the web page, registered and planned on unsubscribing myself, but apparently the dev mailing list is not using paul@gyugyi.com. If I don't hear from you in the next day, I'll (...)   Re: New newsgroup lugnet.cad.dev

What's the current infrastructure/linkage between L-CAD@LISTSERV.UH.EDU and lugnet.cad.dev? Is everybody now subscribed to both lists? Is there any gatewaying going on? I don't have any preference here--the current situation is a transitional state (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Proposal for Revised Memorial

(...) The Reply button/keystroke should reply to the poster only -- that's how newsreaders work and that's how mailing lists are supposed to work. (...) (Guess posting from e-mail isn't going to work without a lot of effort on my part since it isn't being passed with reply-to's set to the group. Oh well, I can still archive posts.) Unless, of course, Jacob didn't host it and we needed to get (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Proposal for Revised Memorial

(...) How would you classify a Blacktron I prisoner pod? The exactly same sub- assembly is used 6 times in 5 different sets. It's not really set-specific, but it's certainly not a part, right?
