I'm merely setting the camera angle to 1 which eliminates perspective. I do
not set orthographic.
I modified LPub so the lowest camera angle is 1, and fixed the label that
indicates the actual camera angle so it is updated as the scroll bar thumb
is moved.
With the current released LPub, you can get close to 1 by moving the scroll
bar thumb all the way to the left edge of the container, and then moving it
one pixel to the right.

If the center of your design (for the current DAT being processed) is not at
the origin, this can happen. In your case the X component of the center of
the design is to the right or left of the origin.

Yes. You are having faulty memories. Soon. Just yesterday I added a
mechanism to automatically center the model on the origin (this happens on a
model and sub-model basis, so your stuff is acutomatically centered.)
This lack of centering can cause change of scale if the center of your
design is off the origin along the Z-axis and your rotate about Y. I've
been burned by this before.
Originally I assumed that L3P would auto-center, but it does not.
I've added the auto-centering *after* the rotation due to rotation steps, to
make sure that the rotated design is centered.
I'll soon be releasing a new LPub, but first I want to whack on it with my
pneumatic adding machine design, as it seems to be finding interesting issues.

| (...) L3P can perform automatic camera positioning only when you use -cg<la>,<lo>[,<r>] camera globe position, default is 30,45,0 and radius is <= 0. -ca<a> is allowed too. Otherwise you have constrained the camera too much. /Lars (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.inst)
