LDraw on Linux —Jaco van der Molen
Hi all, Just recently I installed Linux SuSU 6.4 on a computer. Great so far. Now I want to use LDraw on it and Emacs and LDGLite, but I have a couple of questions about it. 1. Following the tutorial on (URL) I tried to download (URL) that failed (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw on Linux —Jacob Sparre Andersen
Jaco: (...) (URL) slash at the end) (...) That's because I have been messing around with my web site last weekend. I have moved the archive to "www.ldraw.org" now. (...) Maybe because you never installed some basic C development libraries. (...) (...) (23 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw on Linux —Jaco van der Molen
OK, I got the linux-ldraw-library.tar.gz and extracted it! Great. It worked, all files are nicely in directories! (...) Where would I get these basic C development libraries? Or how can I check if they are there? (...) Right. I created the file (...) (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw on Linux —Jacob Sparre Andersen
Jaco: (...) The easiest way is probably to try to install a package named "Mesa-devel". If it complains something is most likely missing. (...) I'm afraid I don't know enough about Mesa/GLUT to help here. Jacob (23 years ago, 8-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw on Linux —Jaco van der Molen
Hi Jacob! Thanks for all the information. You would not happen to know where I can get Mesa-devel? Does anyone else have LDGLite or other LDraw related programs running on Linux and can help me? Greetingz... Sjaacko (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw on Linux —Jacob Sparre Andersen
Jaco: (...) It isn't on the SuSE CD's? I got it from (URL) those packages may be slightly too Red Hat specific. I'll include a complete list of the development and library packages on my system. It might help (but it could also just be confusing). (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDraw on Linux —Don Heyse
(...) Bad code? Ouch! ;-) I guess I'll have to fix the warnings. They're the same warnings I get so you're OK there. (...) Sorry, I've been away on vacation so I've missed most of this so far. I've never used SuSe so I don't know how much help I'll (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)

Hi Don, (...) OK! (...) Yes that is right. (...) My video card is a ATI 3D Rage Pro AGP. (...) SuSE is of the year 2000 (...) There is my card... (...) That could be possible. My knowledge of Linux thus far is somewhat limited, because I just (...) (23 years ago, 10-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad)
