Instead of developing a lock plate with a fixed width, why not create a 'bluff' plate--the equivalent of one of the proposed lock plates, but cut in half lengthwise. It definitely has sections which would look like a canal (because in fact, they are canals in the sense of being man made), but don't have any locks that I know of. (...) Okay, so if we do build canals, what are yours gonna be like?? I've been wanting to build one since the working lego ones i saw at legoland, but who has the grey bricks to do the side walls?? I made an elevated platform that has 2 space landing plates on top of a brick frame work. I set the plates right on the studs though.
