Re: Opinions needed for Color and Edge Values

(2 URLs) So, you guys think that models look better with black edges? (17 years ago, 19-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Opinions needed for Color and Edge Values

(...) Why don't you use #000000 as the edge color? I think that looks OK even against the default black color (LDraw color 0), while the edge lines around the black in you image above are difficult to see. --Travis (17 years ago, 19-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Opinions needed for Color and Edge Values

(...) I agree with you. These are the LDraw Core Colors with official LEGO RGBs Scott has worked on with a #1F1F1F edge I added for the test: (URL) You can do some tests yourself. Files are here: (URL) I'm not sure on the lighter edge for dark (...) (17 years ago, 19-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Opinions needed for Color and Edge Values

(...) You will need to over-write your existing MLCAD.cfg that should be located in the LDraw directory. Nothing else needs to be done. Just open MLCAD and open your models to see them in the new colors. Scott (17 years ago, 19-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Opinions needed for Color and Edge Values

Great work. However (please forgive me)... Where do I put these files (I assume the MLCad program folder?), how do I use them amd how can I test if the colors are right? I have never worked with custom colors before. (17 years ago, 19-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Opinions needed for Color and Edge Values

(...) I personally like the black edgelines more, because it is more likely the original instructions. And I think that this is the way to go. But it should not in any case be a real black edge. Sometimes I would prefer a more light-black, and (...) (17 years ago, 18-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Opinions needed for Color and Edge Values

For the last several weeks, I have been part of group of people working to fill in the colors that are missing from LDconfig.ldr, and basically, make sure the entire contents of the file are correct and laid out properly. There are a lot of colors (...) (17 years ago, 18-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Mesh Enhancer?

(...) You've got mail. I'll try to contact the author and see if we can upload the prog at LDraw or somewhere else. Bye, w. (17 years ago, 16-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Mesh Enhancer?

Hello All, I'm just getting started in rendering with POV-Ray. You can see my first attempt at the URL below. I attempted to replicate the look of the (URL) McLaren MP-42> Formula One car using the 8458 Silver Champion model. I got the colors and (...)   Re: POV-Ray wont work with Vista

(...) I have POVray 3.6 running perfectly on my Vista machine (have you tried installing that one?). LPub 4.X has no problems either. Nor does the latest LDview or most other LDraw related programs I've tried (a few part authoring tools break the (...) (17 years ago, 15-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: POV-Ray wont work with Vista

(...) When I heard about the Vista announcement, the first thing I did was buy 4 new copies of XP pro, but I guess ignoring Vista isn't so good over the long run. I'll have to get Vista and run it under Sun's Virtual Box, running on my x86 Mac and (...) (17 years ago, 14-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: POV-Ray wont work with Vista

(...) I just have googled a little bit and it seems to me that maybe different version of the Microsoft C++ Librarys cause the error. Please see (URL) or also search for your error code. As I do not have vista I can not help more. cu mikeheide (17 years ago, 14-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: POV-Ray wont work with Vista

(...) Use LPub 4 with LDView or LDGLite for the building instructions. Use L3P and L3PAddOn for creating the POV file for rendering. I'd also recommend making 2 model files. One for building instructions and one of the whole model for rendering you (...) (17 years ago, 11-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: POV-Ray wont work with Vista

(...) I am interested in creating building instructions, but I would also like a nice rendering that I will edit in Photoshop for the front box cover. I have used an older version of Lpub and POV-Ray before on my computer with windows XP, so I am (...) (17 years ago, 11-Nov-08, to lugnet.cad)
