(I know you said you prefer to use LDGLite as the renderer, and LDView is
certainly slower than LDGLite, but LDView is a whole lot faster than POV-Ray.  I
seem to remember Don commenting in the past that sorted blended transparency
wasn't supported in LDGLite.  I suppose that could have changed, though.)

For reference, here's a sample that includes an LDView-rendered transparent
part:

Using what settings can I achieve this?
I cannot seem to get this result.

I exported my settings from regedit, and stored them here:

http://www.halibut.com/~tcobbs/ldraw/private/LDView-LPub.reg

The above file contains just the LPub preference set settings from my LDView.
If you download it and double-click on the file, you will be asked if you want
to import the settings into regedit.  If you click yes, you'll get the current
settings I have in my LPub preference set in LDView.  They should produce an
image comparable to the one above (as long as you're using the version of LDView
I posted a link to three message up).

Right! This was a succes and I am very satisfied with the result:

:-)

Furthermore, using these settings I a very *very* satisfied with this result:

This resolves my issue posted here: http://news.lugnet.com/cad/?n=12835 and nice
transparent parts.

Compare:

with
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/sjaacko/Temp/LPubTests/bbsswinr_0_05_ci_better.png

I will take the "longer" rendering time for granted! It is worth waiting a
little while longer ;-)

(...) Hmmm, I don't know. While I think you've probably made the right choice selecting ldview (it's the better renderer), I don't think you're comparing the right stuff in those two pics. The "better" ldview pic doesn't display the halo problem (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)
