Re: It’s the year 2008, where are my parts updates?

(...) To answer both of your questions, take a look at LDraw.org's (URL) Unofficial Parts> page. Although the 'instructions' are kinda brief. Sorry about that. Basically, you do this: Download the zip file (the link at the bottom of the unofficial (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: It’s the year 2008, where are my parts updates?

(...) Are there instructions anywhere on how to download and install or update unofficial parts? Is there a repository where all the unofficial parts live? Thanks, Paul Sinasohn LUGNET #115 (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Exhaust Pipes 71137 and x855 misaligned

(...) Thanks for checking, I posted a warning on PT. BTW, part number is 40620. Philo (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Exhaust Pipes 71137 and x855 misaligned

(...) This problem should be fixed with the update I made in November 2007! Do you have noticed that? cu mikeheide (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: It’s the year 2008, where are my parts updates?

(...) That's what I do, too. And update from time to time. (...) I heartfully agree: we are desperately missing reviewers! While it does require some LDraw knowledge, it is nothing compared to authoring of complex parts... it took me years to get up (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)

Exhaust Pipes 71137 and x855 misaligned

Hi, Again, while doing these parts for LGEO, I discovered the exhaust pipes old 71137 and new (with Pin) x855 (unoffical by GuyVivan) to be misaligned. They have a different origin point, which is not the problem. If you place them in a the holes of (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: It’s the year 2008, where are my parts updates?

(...) I'm *sure* that LDraw is not on death row. I have faith that things will get resolved. I'm sure part of the problem is that we have real lives, and sometimes that gets in the way of LEGO. Are you sure you cannot get along with an unofficial (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)

  LPub Wiki

Hi folks, I wanted to let folks now that I am working hard at LPub 4.0, a WYSIWYG building instruction editor. Philo was kind enough to set up a wiki for people to report bugs, add feature requests, and watch the testing process proceed. (URL) I've (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)

It’s the year 2008, where are my parts updates?

It has been over two years since the last LDraw parts update. Where the heck are the new ones? Are we just letting LDraw die? It is really seeming that way. Yes, I’ve read the ‘Lack of Parts Updates’ article. I read it over a year ago. And as far as (...) (17 years ago, 21-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad)

  MPD file for Technic #8842

In this post (URL) you can find the mpd file describing the #8842 Technic set of the 80’s. I decide to remake the model after I read the post in The NXT Step: (URL) which explains some methods to unstuck parts. In a commentary the #8842 is mentioned (...)   Re: Library Specifications for Canvas Parts

(...) Actually, I think it should use color 16 and 24 for the canvas portion. LDraw is partially about allowing people to build computer models of real world creations, but it's also definitely about allowing them to build computer models that will (...)   Re: Library Specifications for Canvas Parts

(...) Nice. (...) Doesn't part 522 (URL) the first official part from this family? Should it stand as an example for future such parts, or does it need to be revised after the LSC adopts some guidelines? (17 years ago, 19-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Library Specifications for Canvas Parts

(...) I think as follow: As the "Canvas" is only useful in the fold version like the design of the part, it should not be modifyable like stickers (colors). Also we do not need an unfold version (mostly useless). Unpatterned versions are only (...) (17 years ago, 17-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, FTX)

  Library Specifications for Canvas Parts

Hi folks, I'm currently working on the "Canvas Wagon Cover with Oval and Two Crossed Cutlasses Pattern" (URL) and before I start cleaning the part for PT-fitness I'd like to ask the LSC for some guidelines, since this is the first canvas part ever (...)   Re: Which CAD program recommended for Mac??

Re: New LDraw part author tool and tutorial: Ytruder

(...) No, but I have had thoughts about a very similar tool. One that lists all (or at least the first one hundred) points mentioned in a dat-file. It shouldn't take that many minutes to rush together such a utility. But so far, I haven't taken the (...) (17 years ago, 14-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: New LDraw part author tool and tutorial: Ytruder

Hello Tore, You are right, I should look more closely at LDraw script. Certainly a flexible tool... Would you already have a utility that converts a ldraw file (say with a path of lines) into a set of points coordinates usable by LDS? Philo (17 years ago, 14-Feb-08, to lugnet.cad.dev)
