  PRR T1 #6110

I have finally completed building the PRR T1 MOC that I planned out in LDD2. Naturally, I still had to make modifications once finally building in real life. Apart from the BBB wheel set and linkages, all of the pieces used are available from the (...) (17 years ago, 1-Jul-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.cad.ldd)

RACHAL Impossible entry - Hangin' around

Hi folks, I just submitted my entry to the raytracing contest: (URL) More about the rendering process can be found here: (URL) (17 years ago, 30-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

  RACHAL Polar - changeover day

Hi all, Another quarter (well, tomorrow anyway) and another RACHAL. The last entry for RACHAL Impossible is up (URL) 1> and it's time for a new challenge. This month we go back to the snow (yes it seems we have an addiction) with a guest submission (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.announce, FTX)

  Re: L3P Launcher version .8

(...) I do have a copy of the L3P launcher I could zip and mail to you if it remains unavailable. Hopefully James sees this and fixes the link, though. The Mac OS X version of the L3P command line program is still available at (URL) too, for what (...) (17 years ago, 30-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Re: L3P Launcher version .8

(...) The download link at this page is dead. Does anyone know a new location for the L3P launcher or have a copy to share? Thanks in advance! (17 years ago, 29-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: First few parts James Jessiman made

(...) If you download and install ldraw.exe (the ORIGINAL dos installer) it will give you the original files that James created for LDraw. -Ahui LDraw Help Desk (17 years ago, 28-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: First few parts James Jessiman made

(...) Pretty sure the first ones were 3001, 3002, and 3003. The original default model was PYRAMID.DAT, which only uses 2x4 and 2x2 bricks. --Bram (17 years ago, 27-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Missing primitives after part update.

(...) I don't understand your question. How would you go about doing what? And while you might not know what else the MLCad base path would be, your description of the problem makes it sound like MLCad has to be looking for parts in some other (...)   Re: Missing primitives after part update.

(...) My base path is C:\LDraw. I don't know what else it would be. As for your suggestion, how would I go about that? Thank you so much for your patience -Bill. (17 years ago, 27-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: Commemoration of the 10th anniversary of James Jessiman's passing

(...) This is a fantastic idea and a very fitting tribute! James passed away just as I was first getting into LDraw, and even though he and I never corresponded directly, I've had a few email contacts with his family in the subsequent decade. (...)   First few parts James Jessiman made

Does any one know the order of the first several parts James Jessiman made and what they were? Looking for the first 2-8 brick elements. Thanks in advance, Mike Gallagher MIKESLGEO (17 years ago, 26-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) Oops :-/ (...) My mistake, I really thought you wanted the POV thingy. Well, I'm learning, that's the whole point of it anyway. And I was just about to ask how to actually input coordinates in LDView should I need to do that - which you just (...) (17 years ago, 24-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Commemoration of the 10th anniversary of James Jessiman's passing

On the 25th July 1997, James Jessiman passed away due to complications from the flu. The LDraw Steering Committee would like to commemorate the 10th anniversary of this sad day with a tribute page to James and his great foundation. We invite you to (...)   Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) I just wanna make clear that the L3P coordinates have to be "L3P style global coordinates". For example <25,45,0>,<-25,225,0>. Please do not send me raw LDView outputs for PoyRay like: camera { #declare ASPECT = 4/3; location < (...) (17 years ago, 24-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) Now that you say it, I seem to remember that playing with preferences sets might have been the last thing I tried to do before the first crash - thought it'd be an interesting feature to test out. And indeed now that it works again I've been (...) (17 years ago, 24-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) I'm not 100% sure, but it appears that preference sets are setting off the crash. I'm not sure why yet, but QT on the Mac just completely wigs out when you launch LDView after creating and switching to a new preference set. So I'd say, don't (...)   Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) ... (...) ... (...) My guess is that file came from your QT 4 compile of LDView. That sounds like a serious step backwards from the QT 3 behavior, though. Even if they did change the API to require usage of the com.yada.yada.yada format, not (...) (17 years ago, 23-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) Great! I suspect I found the funnily named file because I was running an earlier version of LDView on this machine. I'm glad you're back in business. (...) No problem. Be well, Jim (17 years ago, 23-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) I don't have that file; but Travis pointed me to another preferences file I had missed in /Library/Preferences which was named com.LDView.plist. I guess I missed it because of the com. prefix which the file in my own preferences directory (...) (17 years ago, 23-Jun-07, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Re: How to get L3P coordinates

(...) No, I don't need the report. It doesn't sound like something I can diagnose - I just asked on the chance that there was a specific setting or command you had tried that I could duplicate to help identify the problem, if I had not encountered (...)
