  RE: RC trainbase

These may be of help (URL) Message----- From: news-gateway@lugnet.com [mailto:news-gateway...ugnet.com] On Behalf Of Niels Karsdorp Sent: 26 October 2006 07:27 To: lugnet.cad@lugnet.com Subject: RC trainbase After a long period of not doing (...) (18 years ago, 26-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad)

  RC trainbase

After a long period of not doing anything with LDraw I started to make the new RC trainbase: (URL) I only have the black trainbase from set 7898 Cargo Train Deluxe. I don't know the color of the on-button and the channel switch on the white (...) (18 years ago, 26-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: I found an LDRAW importer for Google SketchUp

(...) Actually I wonder about that. I searched recently for good 3D modeler programs on the premise that using such programs could rapidly shrink part authoring time if done well. In the process I also found Pictomod3D ((URL) which looks like it has (...) (18 years ago, 26-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Technic Plate Placement

(...) I, too, find that I just can't make pieces connect in LDD like they're supposed to. When this happens, I'll build up part of the model in LDD and then save as a .LDR file. Then using MLCAD (in LDraw), I fix the stuff that didn't work in LDD (...) (18 years ago, 25-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad.ldd)

  MOC: "Retro Factory" Motorail Terminal

Hi all, I've been working to recreate some of the great classic town/train sets within the bounds imposed by the piece assortment on LDD. The Motorail Terminal is, I think, one of the more impressive results of this project. And I've produced a (...)   I found an LDRAW importer for Google SketchUp

Don't know if this has been mentioned here before, but I have found an LDRAW import plugin, made by Jim Foltz(?), for the Google SketchUp program: (URL) have only checked it on the CAR.DAT yet, but that works, even the colors come through. One (...) (18 years ago, 24-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Helper applications for 3D modeling

(...) You may want to try 3Dto3D It can convert dat files to and from sevral formats including obj and 3DS . You can download it at: (URL) (18 years ago, 24-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: LDView SaveSnapshot bug

(...) Aha! Such a simple solution, I should've realized all the other command line options work that way. That's a big help. Thanks! (18 years ago, 24-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad)

  A few train MOCs

Yay! I still remember how to build. I just used LDD to design some small train sets... Not sure if this link will work. You may need to copy and paste the string. If not, search for user Hendotron at the Lego Factory... (URL) details: The crossing (...) (18 years ago, 24-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad.ldd, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.trains) !

  Re: Technic Plate Placement

(...) Well, I apologize for answering my own post, but here's what I found and thought was worth sharing in case anyone else has this problem: First, lego.com actually admits there are such faults with the program sometimes not being able to connect (...)   Re: Helper applications for 3D modeling

(...) That's pretty interesting, so it's certainly worth a try. Converting to LDraw format could be difficult, though. But I know of a tool from another 3d project I've been working with, the game VegaStrike, called mesher.exe, which can convert (...) (18 years ago, 23-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: tool for patterned parts

(...) I used to do minifig heads using quad2dat, but not in the standard way, since the minifig head template in quad2dat would stretch out the pattern in wierd ways. Instead, I would use the template for a flat part like the minifig torso, and then (...) (18 years ago, 23-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LDView SaveSnapshot bug

(...) Now seems like a good time for a little bug report tip. If you even suspect the problem might be with the command line, try including the whole command line in the bug report. :^) Have fun, Don (18 years ago, 23-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: personal OMR

(...) Thanks. However, the UnofficialFiles should be Unofficial in order to work with the directory created by LDView. (Maybe that was a directory that was already in yours, and wasn't intended as the one for the LDView files.) --Travis (18 years ago, 23-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.models.sets, lugnet.cad)

Version 528 of my Library is available now.

Version 528 of the Library can be found on my website now, 8 new pieces have been added, 2 pieces have been changed. The Reference Gallery has been updated to version 528 too now. Many of these new pieces are required to build the locomotive of the (...) (18 years ago, 22-Oct-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: tool for patterned parts

  Re: tool for patterned parts
