  LEGO Factory individual parts fulfillment

It looks like (URL) LEGO Factory> will begin individual brick fulfillment beginning tomorrow, April 8th. This means no more shipment of extra bricks when you order a model designed with LEGO Digital Designer (LDD). Instead of being based on a set of (...)   Re: Bricksmith 1.3: Here's Looking at You, Kid

(...) The lines do end up with different thicknesses at different places due to the way they get drawn. As far as I know, thick lines in OpenGL are drawn such that a section perpendicular to the line direction is all drawn at the same Z depth. So (...)   Re: Bricksmith 1.3: Here's Looking at You, Kid

Travis, Those images are very impressive! The lines are big and bold, instead of disappearing into the surface they are supposed to be outlining. They are instruction-grade. I will say, however, that MegaPOV does a better job doing stud outlining on (...) (19 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Peeron or BrickLink Name? 3003p???.dat - Brick 2 x 2 with Red Dot Pattern

(...) We try to enforce some categorisation within the pxx suffixes for LDraw patterned parts, using p0x for General/Miscellaneous and Town. See (URL) for the full list. The Patterned Parts Reference (eg. (URL) is a good way to look up what is (...) (19 years ago, 6-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Peeron or BrickLink Name? 3003p???.dat - Brick 2 x 2 with Red Dot Pattern

(...) Not any that I know of. I'm afraid I wasn't clear enough in my question. Those "names" you quote are what I call "descriptions". It's good to harmonize them too, of course. But the differences are not as confusing as different part numbers (...) (19 years ago, 6-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Peeron or BrickLink Name? 3003p???.dat - Brick 2 x 2 with Red Dot Pattern

(...) I agree. Keep in mind, once the LDraw part becomes official, Peeron typically updates their database to use the LDraw name. (...)   Peeron or BrickLink Name? 3003p???.dat - Brick 2 x 2 with Red Dot Pattern  [DAT]

I am strongly against the idea of a trird name for parts like this. What do you think, should I pick the Peeron name or the name used in Bricklink? 0 Brick 2 x 2 with Red Dot Pattern 0 Name: 3003p???.dat 0 Author: Tore Eriksson 0 Unofficial Part 0 (...)   Re: LeoCad version 0.75

(...) The rotation circles make it easier to rotate the direction you want to rotate, and I think it's more intuitive too. That's how professional software like Max and Maya work (I followed the Max way of rotating and added some extra functionality (...) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: LeoCad version 0.75

(...) Yeah, the new rotation system....I need some time getting used to that. For example: when you select the rotation button a circle appears to define the rotation point. BUT the rotation button only works when the mouse pointer is actually (...) (19 years ago, 5-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: LeoCad version 0.75

  LeoCad version 0.75

On April the first a new LeoCad version has been released: 0.75 In this version the mysterious disappearance of some pieces as discussed below has been solved! It even seems that even an old bug/quirk which plagued my installation is gone too: when (...) (19 years ago, 4-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Augmented Reality

Hello world... A while ago I discoverd Augmented Reality(AR). This lets you combine images from your webcam with virtual objects. When I was looking for an idea for what to do with AR, I just came over to LEGO®.(No textures needed :),prebuilt bricks (...) (19 years ago, 4-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Bricksmith 1.3: Here's Looking at You, Kid

(...) For what it's worth, I don't think most people are aware that OpenGL can be used to render images at arbitrary resolutions. Most video cards don't support rendering directly above 2048x2048. (Presumably the new cards that support 2560x1600 (...) (19 years ago, 4-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Bricksmith 1.3: Here's Looking at You, Kid

(...) Okay, that puts me in my place. I hereby recant any prior suggestions about crummy resolution! Now that we have established that OpenGL can produce print-quality images, my question is: Can OpenGL produce instruction-quality graphics? Even (...) (...) Thanks Kevin (other respondents thanks as well), but that won't be nessecary. Here's what I did to work around the crc-error. 0) As preperation, load as many as possible of the substructures in LPub and generate BOM's, simply to build up the (...) (19 years ago, 1-Apr-06, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Bricksmith 1.3: Here's Looking at You, Kid

(...) The resolution argument actually doesn't hold up. When I added printing support to LDView in Windows, I made it generate an image using tiling that was at the printer's resolution (or maybe I maxed out at 300DPI; that was four years ago, so I (...)   Re: Bricksmith 1.3: Here's Looking at You, Kid

(...) I don't think it has to be. My friend made me a parts list from MLCAD and it was arranged alphabetically by part description. I think it would make the most logical sense to sort a parts list by part number. Russell (19 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: Bricksmith 1.3: Here's Looking at You, Kid
