  Re: LPub 2.4.8.0 available

Its interesting to see the two side by side. It appears that LDGLite has better shading, but LDView is smoother on the outlines. Is there antialiasing on LDView then? Danny -- (URL) - Build Robots (...) (19 years ago, 15-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

  New Jedi Starfighter canopy? Anyone?

I'm looking for a .dat for the canopy from the new Jedi Starfighter: (URL) I would be happy to have an unprinted one... is anyone working on this? I didn't find it on the tracker. (2 URLs) Tony Hafner (URL) www.hafhead.com> (19 years ago, 14-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

  10143 Death Star II

I was wondering if someone say a Orion had too much free time on his hands to do a LDraw model of the new 10143 Death Star II set? (19 years ago, 14-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Scale issues

Sorry 'bout that. I'm modeling a tacho wheel, and I used the core off of one of the double bevel gears that I brought into Blender, which means that I should've started at the right scale to begin with. After I was done, I also brought in an axle (...) (19 years ago, 14-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Scale issues

(...) Dear Stefan, I'm not really sure what you mean here. If you give a little more detail of what you did it might be easier to help. Tim (19 years ago, 14-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Scale issues

Hi all, I made a quick model of the Tacho Wheel for a friend, and exported it out of Blender. It shows up in MLCAD, but it's never the right size. I've tried scaling it up and down, and it makes no difference to the end file apparently. Is there a (...) (19 years ago, 14-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LPub 2.4.8.0 available

(...) Kevin actually has samples on his Brickshelf account of what LDGLite and LDView rendering look like in LPub: (URL) LDView> (URL) LDGLite> --Travis (19 years ago, 13-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LPub 2.4.8.0 available

(...) You are correct. Using LDGLite and LDView (with the proper settings), can give you building instructions in a style much more like those produced by LEGO. LDGLite is blindingly fast, and a welcome change. (...) Kevin (19 years ago, 12-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub 2.4.8.0 available

(...) Ahhhh..... :) Sounds like I need to update my installations of various apps. So in talking about "edge lines" am I correct to think that this is for the more traditional type of instruction images... i.e. the more cartoon-like and less (...) (19 years ago, 12-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub 2.4.8.0 available

(...) Hi Allan, I collaborated with the authors of LDGLite, and LDView, and they can be used as renderers now too. Relative to POV-Ray, they have the advantage of speed, and support the concept of edge lines without having to resort to a heuristic (...) (19 years ago, 12-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LPub 2.4.8.0 available

(...) Kevin, As always, I want you to know how much I appreciate (and use) your program. But I have a silly question. :) If it doesn't require POV-Ray, then what is it calling to do the rendering? Best regards, Allan B. (19 years ago, 12-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

  LPub 2.4.8.0 available

Hi, I just released a new version of LPub. This version: - Does not require POV-Ray - Adds support for callout and multi_step step_number placement separate from that for normal single step pages. - Fixed bugs in pointer placement. (URL) (19 years ago, 12-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

(...) It has a similar girder structure to the other monorail tracks: (URL) Only it's curved and very nasty. (...) Well, I'm actually using the part upside down because I like the industrial look of the girders... but for the building/recording (...) (19 years ago, 10-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: img2sticker: Convert images into .ldr stickers

(...) The problem is that the triangulation routine is not very good. It can usually be tricked to find a triangulation at some point but basically it is just not very good at it. If I ever get around to finishing the C++ version it will do a much (...) (19 years ago, 7-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: img2sticker: Convert images into .ldr stickers

(...) Thanks, that took care of it. I'm still having trouble though. Everything I convert, including the ghanlogo.bmp that came with the download, comes out messy triangles. Nothing really recognizable. I may have to play with this while I'm more (...) (19 years ago, 7-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: img2sticker: Convert images into .ldr stickers

(...) LDRAWDIR is an environment variable which must be set to run the program. I assume img2sticker.pl uses the colours defined in ldconfig.ldr in that directory. To set it in XP: In Control Panel, choose "System" On the Advanced tab, click (...) (19 years ago, 7-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: img2sticker: Convert images into .ldr stickers

(...) I've made a few attempts to use this, but I'm not having much luck. I've installed Perl, and I think I'm using the command line correctly. I keep getting the following though: "You do not have LDRAWDIR defined. This must be defined in order to (...) (19 years ago, 7-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Technique for creating minifig heads

(...) I haven't done many heads (like, none that I remember). Your approach could work. Another approach would be to scan the part to make a 2D version of the pattern (enlarged). Then measure the (x,y) coordinates of the points, and project these (...) (19 years ago, 5-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

(...) Ahh, it's up for me now. From the pics the parts don't look too hard; I have no idea what the real parts look like so I don't know what's underneath.. Perhaps that's not important for your application though? What I would need is a detailed (...) (19 years ago, 3-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: Anyone working on monorail tracks?

Can't get to peeron right now (is it down?). If you can send me a jpg of the parts I can tell you if my students could make them for you. Darrell (19 years ago, 3-Oct-05, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)
