Re: WORD file with LDraw images

(...) AHui, Here's the link: (URL) expanded to include PDF and HTML versions of the file. That guide would be a good candidate for inclusion on the LDraw site. I've just added it to the .build portal page on Lugnet. That guide was indispensable to (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  WORD file with LDraw images

A while back someone posted a word file that had thumbnail images of all the ldraw parts. Does anyone have this file or know what the URL is? Thanks, AHui (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) The above is simple but if you want L3P global coodinates from X,Y,Z coordinates then that's a little more complicated. The zero radius of the L3P global coordinates is determined by the bounding boxes of the parts in the model and the center (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) Yeah, I know, I'm not Kevin. But he's working on lsynth now, so it'd be nice if he stuck with it. (...) Ok, I see your point about java, but how about javascript? (URL) you need is a browser, and if you want it stand-alone you just need to do (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) hi kevin, I'd like to have it both ways. I provide x,y,z and get lat, long+distance from origin (and yes, the center of the globe is at the LDraw origin) and vice versa. I need this to render backgrounds in bryce using the same camera position (...) (20 years ago, 17-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Sorting by line

(...) Another thought, maybe sorting on the center of the axis-aligned bounding box for the line? For lines this would be the center of the line but would it be the center of the tri or quad? My visualzation skills are elluding me at the moment. (...) (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) Ok, this one's not as pretty, but does seem to have cut-n-paste support. (URL) Enjoy, (...) (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) Does this help any? (URL) no cut-n-paste, but I bet if you google with the right keywords you'll find something better. I used these: spherical coordinates convert applet Enjoy, Don (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

(...) Hi Willy, Are you wanting to provide X,Y,Z and getting lattitide and longitide in L3P format? Are we to assume that the center of the globe is at the LDraw origin? Kevin (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

hi folks, does anybody have a clue where I could find a converter/calculator which simply converts my LDraw coordinates into longitudinal-latitudinal values and vice versa? if not could some of the code-gods write down a little piece of prog? no (...) (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Parts editing made easy, anyone?

Update: the converter works and is posted to the top level newsgroup, "lugnet.cad". (URL) to come. We should perhaps move discussions back here to .dev for intricate details like feature requests and bug reports, but you can also send me e-mail, and (...)   Re: Use of arbitrary elements with LSynth

(...) Hi all, I have rewritten much of LSynth's code so that it is table driven. Currently the tables are coded in the program, but the important thing is that definitions of synthesized things are tabular. I've added a string type that uses your (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Parts authoring made easy!

After a couple of days of coding fun, I finally have the ASE to LDR file converter working. It is still not tested for more than a few input files, so there may still be nasty bugs I haven't found, but to my own surprise, it seemed to work right off (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

Pneumatic Circuit of Pick and Place Robot

(...) Here's the drawing of the pneumatic circuit of my 4-function Pick and Place robot: (URL) Robot pictures here: (URL) The drawing should make the circuit easy to reproduce, as long as you have enough parts!   Re: LEGOTECH-PARTS for Solidworks

(...) Neat package! I knew there were lots of informal SW/LEGO fans out there (SW meaning SolidWorks!). Can I ask a couple of questions? 1. Is there an official English page? Trying to read using an online translator is very frustrating. I really (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Parts editing made easy, anyone?

I'm replying to my own post to keep a low profile for the time being. The project is not quite finished yet, but I have some good news I'd like to share with you: I now have a working file converter that takes ASE export input from 3dsmax and writes (...)   Re: Sorting by line

(...) IMO, it would be best with a dialog when sorting is requested. Remember all the settings from the last time sorting was used. (...) If there is no choice for the user, I'd say keep them at the top as you do now. A checkbox for removing them (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Sorting by line

(...) It's hard to say what would be best. I personally think that having a dialog with all the sort options along with a quick way to apply the most recently used sort options might be the most flexible. That way, people who use the feature (...) (20 years ago, 14-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)
