Re: STL File for 3D Printing

(...) Just a quick update on this ... The parts built with Stratasys and ZCorp machines are coming along well. My contact has printed a couple versions and Jason's been making improvements to the files that give us better results. I'll have pics (...)   Re: ldraw based import parts

(...) You seem to have linked the same picture twice, so i'm not sure which part you are referring to in terms of the rear canopy. As for the second piece, I modified 6238 to reduce it by one stud length and created a new piece from this. Some (...) (20 years ago, 6-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: STL File for 3D Printing

(...) Cool! Now THAT I'd like to see done on an RP machine. Like maybe three feet tall! I wish I would've thought about that sooner; I already have one done in (URL) AutoCAD solids> and it would've been easy to convert that to STL. Oh well. Is Tim (...)   Re: July's Winners for LDraw.org's MOTM and SOTM Contests

Re: is leocad not developed any more?

I don't know why you think that, I posted on the LeoCAD mailing list last week trying to track down a bug and the parts update on the website has all LDraw updates included. I haven't released a new version in a long time, but I keep making small (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

Re: STL File for 3D Printing

(...) Tommy, I can get you those tomorrow. (I just got remember is all.) Wood parts cnc'd would be pretty cool. I could get you an stl file for a baseplate (whatever number of studs by whatever number of studs) if you'd like as well. Those would be (...)   Re: Converting Images to DAT?

(...) I'm not at home, so I can't go through POV-Ray for the precise method, but here's what I'd suggest: 1. Make a note of which specific piece in the DAT model you want to emblazon with the rendered decal (let's say it's the 2x4 brick 3001.dat) 2. (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Converting Images to DAT?

(...) Dave!'s right about POV-Ray, the results will be far superior to what you get with BMP2DAT utilities. If you really want LDraw files of your stickers, your options depend on what format you used to create the stickers. And the style of the (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Converting Images to DAT?

(...) How comfortable are you with POV-Ray? If you simply want to include the decal in a rendered image, and if you have a scan of the custom sticker, you could insert it directly into the POV-Ray file so that it's rendered along with the model. (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Converting Images to DAT?

I am looking for advice on converting images (custom stickers) to .dat so I can add them to my models and render them with POV. I am hoping to gain some insight from the collective LUGNET expertise in this area. I have used LDAO's BMP to DAT (...) (20 years ago, 5-Aug-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: STL File for 3D Printing

(...) Dear Jason, I am also interested in getting an stl file of a 2x4 brick as well as a 4x4 plate. What I would really like is to create a 6"x6" or 12"x12" base plate out of 1/4" acrylic plexiglass (or hardrock maple) for a project I have in mind. (...)
