Steering Committee candidate Tim Courtney - backgrounder and position statement

I thought I would add my own backgrounder and position statement like Larry did. I also encourage other Steering Committee candidates to do the same. -- I'm encouraged and thankful that the community has decided to embrace the LDraw.org Bylaws and (...)   Re: Call for Nominations to LDraw.org Steering Committee

(...) Also, I would like to add, in the interest of full public disclosure according to Bylaws Subsection 6.02(a), that I am a part-time employee of the LEGO Company, currently holding a retail associate position, as I continue to work on my college (...)   Re: LDRAWPREDIRS LDRAWPOSTDIRS - additional search paths

(...) Here's how I see it working: 1. The admin creates an LDRAW directory on the server. 2. The admin creates extra parts directories under <LDRAWDIR> on the server. 3. The admin creates an ldraw.ini file in the <LDRAWDIR> using the new GUI program (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Multiple MovedTo Arguments Really Legal?

(...) You are not supposed to actually use the information in the comment, it's only informational. The ~ tells mklist to ignore this part. Just ignore the line, the following line type 1 will automatically redirect you to the new part. /Lars (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Animation using Datsville

(...) Well, I've found one at: (URL) it's from Sept. 2001, and I don't even remember how to use it. (...) Yes please! I would be very happy if you did this. (I've added the exception keyword "Datsville" to my (very conservative) spam filter, so it (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Animation using Datsville

(...) Not that I'm aware of (...) I have MPD files of the individual town sections (i.e. Town02, Town10, etc) that have been run through LDBoxer. I can't send them to you if you'd like and then you could just Un-MPD them for the individual files. (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Multiple MovedTo Arguments Really Legal?  [DAT]

In 973p11.dat the first line reads: 0 ~Moved to 973p1a, 973p1b, 973p1c L3P can obviously handle this correctly, but my utility movedto.exe for one, treats the input like this: 1 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 973p11.dat is altered to: 1 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LDRAWPREDIRS LDRAWPOSTDIRS - additional search paths

(...) How will such an installation be laid out? Will users install MLCad on their local machine and MLCad will then first thing ask the user to locate the LDrawDir, which the user specifies as e.g. L:\LDraw or \\server\LDraw ? If the search path (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Animation using Datsville

(...) I've been doing some experiments with different variants of LDBoxer, and also a hing called LDFilTEr. There is a semi-automatic version of LDBoxer where you can pick parts one by one and the interface lets you filter out parts irrelevant for (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

New experimental LeoCAD parts update available

As there was no LeoCAD parts updates for a year, I took the bull by the horns and built an update corresponding to LDraw.org Parts Update 2003-02 (no offense, Leonardo, I know what lack of time is!) This should be considered an experimental release, (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: Animation using Datsville

Also, it would be nice if LDBoxer could replace bricks that have only their bottoms or only their tops covered, as opposed to replacing only those bricks that have both their bottoms and their tops covered. This, however, would necessitate the (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Animation using Datsville

There was some discussion a while back about a technique whereby one culls all objects that are not within the field of view. I don't know if this technique was ever created. I don't know if it's possible to get the bounding box of every object, but (...) (21 years ago, 5-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: LDraw.org 2004-01 Parts Update Now Available

Re: LDraw.org 2004-01 Parts Update Now Available

Whahey! This update contains my first born, the 8x12 baseplate for both the 608 kiosk set and 364 harbour set. Perhaps, only perhaps this gives me the energy to put some more effort in the parts I am planning to submit and the ones I have submitted (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: More Transparency issues (was: "Illusions")

(...) Not at 6:30am though. :) I think I found my problem. I am rendering at Q1, where filter and transparency values don't seem to make much difference. Taking out all the #if QUAL checks seems to solve the problem, though it's going to make it a (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

Re: New LDraw Animation: Rotation Animation

Here is another application of the rotation animation. (URL) Take into account that the minifigs are actually walking in place - it's the camera and lights that revolve around them, creating the illusion that they are walking in a circle. And (...)   Re: More Transparency issues (was: "Illusions")

This file renders fine on my machine. I'd say a) Get a clean copy of the Ldraw radisioty file (and, BTW, try rendering without radiosity to see if there is any difference - I doubt it, but hey) or b) Provide your specific color settings (including (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

(...) Just one? I would fill up a few *lines* with question marks if I wasn't worried about leaving some for the rest of you. I tried it again, thinking maybe it was just last night or something. Same problem. So I tried something different: I (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)
