Re: LDraw.org 2004-01 Parts Update Now Available

Whahey! This update contains my first born, the 8x12 baseplate for both the 608 kiosk set and 364 harbour set. Perhaps, only perhaps this gives me the energy to put some more effort in the parts I am planning to submit and the ones I have submitted (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: More Transparency issues (was: "Illusions")

(...) Not at 6:30am though. :) I think I found my problem. I am rendering at Q1, where filter and transparency values don't seem to make much difference. Taking out all the #if QUAL checks seems to solve the problem, though it's going to make it a (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

Re: New LDraw Animation: Rotation Animation

Here is another application of the rotation animation. (URL) Take into account that the minifigs are actually walking in place - it's the camera and lights that revolve around them, creating the illusion that they are walking in a circle. And (...)   Re: More Transparency issues (was: "Illusions")

This file renders fine on my machine. I'd say a) Get a clean copy of the Ldraw radisioty file (and, BTW, try rendering without radiosity to see if there is any difference - I doubt it, but hey) or b) Provide your specific color settings (including (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: More Transparency issues (was: "Illusions")

(...) Just one? I would fill up a few *lines* with question marks if I wasn't worried about leaving some for the rest of you. I tried it again, thinking maybe it was just last night or something. Same problem. So I tried something different: I (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

Re: More Transparency issues (was: "Illusions")

Hi Mike, I doubt it's the material definition you posted. It renders as a nice solid blue on mah machine. I have blown up the image and seen what you mean. It sure looks like a transparent material has been applied to it. ? (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  First models

Well, after having discovered the Lugnet, Brickshelf and Peeron services I found Ldraw and have had a few hours of fun doing these Space Classic models: 885: This was my first ever Lego kit, when I was 5 years old. It seemed appropriate to do this (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.models.sets, FTX)

Re: More Transparency issues (was: "Illusions")

Here I am again, pleading for help. I wonder if I'll ever learn enough that I can stop having to ask simple questions... This time the part won't show up, rather than the part showing up, um, *too* well. I'm working with that transparent sceptre (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: parts i'd like to see in Lcad/MLcad

(...) Nothing as severe as that. If the origin/orientation changes between now and the time the part is officially released then the part may appear in an undesired position/rotation in your model. - Orion (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: parts i'd like to see in Lcad/MLcad

(...) SNIP (...) Thank you very much! what does it mean "This will break any model..." will the piece just disappear if it changes, or the whole file will be corrupted? Jeff (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, FTX)

Re: parts i'd like to see in Lcad/MLcad

Re: LDRAWPREDIRS LDRAWPOSTDIRS - additional search paths

(...) Ok, I can see where I myself might use this in a pinch because I almost always run things from the command prompt. However, even I would rather set an environment variable or use some other global setting in an ini file. Why? Because if I use (...) (21 years ago, 4-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Not exactly, but pretty close. The 100 looks like it might be about right, but the 010 is more purple than magenta, and the 001 is clearly yellow and not amber (the nofilter flames look closer to amber).   Re: LDRAWPREDIRS LDRAWPOSTDIRS - additional search paths

(...) And I'm pretty sure on Mac OS X, if you use the finder to activate your program, you have no control whatsoever over the command line. So you already need another way if you want to click on a LDR file or link and have something happen. Don (21 years ago, 3-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: LDRAWPREDIRS LDRAWPOSTDIRS - additional search paths

Re: LDRAWPREDIRS LDRAWPOSTDIRS - additional search paths

(...) Seems to me programs need the ability to specify the LDRAWINI directory (and possibly LDRAWDIR) on the command line, for non-standard setups. Maybe the library needs an Ldraw-specific getopt[1] function as well. ROSCO [1] (URL) (21 years ago, 3-Mar-04, to lugnet.cad.dev)
