Re: Animal Tail Section end (NEW)

(...) I agree with Thomas (and Orion, I think - although from his post, I'm not sure he looked at your reduced-size file) -- keep the original. If you are concerned about file size, you could try reducing the number of decimal places on your (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Animal Tail Section end (NEW)

(...) I have to strongly disagree with this. If a file can be done just as well with fewer bytes, that's a good thing. Good for downloading, good for maintaining the part, good for storing the parts library. (...) I won't argue with your figures, I (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Multicolor identical lines in a datfile?

(...) It wouldn't hurt to put the component parts in different ~part files. Otherwise, if you leave it all as one file, I wouldn't put both of the edges in. Steve (21 years ago, 31-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad)

Classic Windows Type c: Short Ledge

My theory is that Samsonite (and maybe some more non-Danish plants?) made the without holes version of the classic windows. Also, Samsonite launced their version of 29c, 29c, and 27c without glass. Plesae correct me if O'm mistaken. I have a bunch (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad)

Classic Windows Type a: Solid Studs

(Let's keep this thread for inventories and discussion on solid studded classic doors and windows) Inventory from my collection: 27a solid stud, long ledge, hole, no glass(1): confirmed! 7026a solid studs, long ledge, hole, no glass(1): confirmed! (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad)

(...) Thanks for your response. (...) Thanks, these are already confirmed from my collection. So far the reference page contains only those sizes up to 1x4x2 - the larger ones already exist in the official library (see below) and although in need of (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Animal Tail Section end (NEW)

(...) You are right, that is no longer a problem. And the CPU(s) on any machine should render a 200k file as fast as a 10k file. The only aspect could be the up- and download time. But for a "perfect" part we shouldn't waste a thought on this. CU (...) (21 years ago, 31-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Animal Tail Section end (NEW)

(...) If it's not broke why fix it? I think the one on the PT is just fine. The file size concern have gotten entirly out of hand. Let's do some math: Peeron has 3628 out of 5589 (64%) sets invertoried for a total of 8062 parts (this includes Moved (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Animal Tail Section end (NEW)

(...) The one on the Tracker is far better. Saving 30% on file size is not worth it for the great degradation in quality. TWS Garrison (21 years ago, 30-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

(...) I can go with this solution also. Headed off to work for now, but I'll be back with this thread sometime this weekend to re-post the drafts. Ratification will take place once technical concerns have been addressed. -Tim (21 years ago, 30-Jan-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)
