I learn code best by looking at a file and looking up all the stuff I don't understand in a help file or documentation. I taught myself VB and Delphi (...) That the LXF format is documented and that there are no restrictions on implementing support for it and/or creating/using programs that can read/write it. if there are too many restrictions, it may mean that programs written under popular Open (...) (21 years ago, 5-May-03, to lugnet.cad) !

(...) For Perl (I think this is also true for Python) you would only need an API definition and a binary DLL or library for linux. The connection would be via XS (what I use) or SWIG.
