  LDraw.org ETA

Hi Kevin et. al., Hopefully you're not being deluged with this question - but do you have an estimated time till the LDraw site is back up? Any thoughts as to whether it'll be hours versus *sob* days? Thanks, Shaun (22 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) For now, I decided to make callout generation a seperate pass of the model. By disabling construction image generation, you can make changes to the callout specifications in your DAT files, Generate -> Instruction Images, and you won't run (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

FYI MPD not good with LPub

I wanted folks to know that MPD and LPub work, but are not an optimal combination. LPub performs a date stamp comparison of the dat file it is processing at a given sub-model-level, and the images rendered for that dat file. If the files don't (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) I recall some one (Dutch too) who started a Postscript project. It was about converting the LDraw format directly to PS. I asked this way back: (URL) (december 10 1999 :-) I got no reply... But then, Guido Heunen replied to another thread: (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Another render of set 8458

(...) Very nice, but I could not help to notice, that you need to rotate the two perpendicular axle joiners (part 6536) holding the two rubber cables in the front of the car by 90 degres to make it accurate. In real LEGO it is not possible to mount (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Monkeypede

(...) Ok -- Steve Bliss ICQ'ed me and suggested trying L3Lab's Register File Types option to settle the MIME-types. Win2K doesn't allow you to manually edit the MIME-types through the interface, and I forget how to do it in the registry. So, I try (...) (...) My IE 5.0 tries to download ldraw.cgi from that poo.ldr link, and mozilla 1.2.1 tries to download monkeypede.ldr.cgi, go figure. -Tim (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Another render of set 8458

(...) Sure, I'll send you the file but I don't think my disatisfaction is due to your INC files. I think its due to my laziness in setting up the scene properly and making the proper L3P output mods. -Orion (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) Hi Tim and Kevin, Since I'm a desktop publisher IRL and for longer I can remember I do know something about Postscript and Postscript programming. It is a fairly easy language to learn and understand. Think of it as POV but in 2D. I have a (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) Yes. I'm sure. FYI, I new nothing about LDraw file formats before I wrote LPub either ;^) I'm thinking that the whole page layout (including formatting of callouts, and callouts within callouts), is a whole new layer of concept in LPub (or an (...)   Re: Callout generation

  Re: Callout generation

(...) Gotcha. This might be a tall order -- but would there be any way for LPub to create these callout elements such as numbers and lines in vector format, and write out an EPS? -Tim (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Callout generation
