Yes. I'm sure. FYI, I new nothing about LDraw file formats before I wrote
LPub either ;^)
I'm thinking that the whole page layout (including formatting of callouts,
and callouts within callouts), is a whole new layer of concept in LPub (or
an add on.) Rendering single images is easy. Gathering part images into
PLIs is not too bad, but laying out callouts within callouts on pages with
whole assemblies and PLIs and other callouts is a whole new ballgame.
It strikes me as an WSYWIG editing situation where you can bring a step, or
steps into a page and arrange all the images on the page, and just keep
doing that until you've consumed all the steps. I envision callout
generation/editing tools, and possibly even PLI generation/editing tools.
Once you are done laying out the pages, you can save it to HTML, EPS,
PDF.... whatever you want.
Trying have the computer automatically lay out your pages won't ever work as
well as a human (not even close), and laying out the formats in a text
editor non-WYSIWYG is a slow iterative process.
For now, single level callouts are easily done, but trying to do multi-level
is a much bigger deal.
