Re: Another render of set 8458

(...) Very nice, but I could not help to notice, that you need to rotate the two perpendicular axle joiners (part 6536) holding the two rubber cables in the front of the car by 90 degres to make it accurate. In real LEGO it is not possible to mount (...) (22 years ago, 14-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Monkeypede

(...) Ok -- Steve Bliss ICQ'ed me and suggested trying L3Lab's Register File Types option to settle the MIME-types. Win2K doesn't allow you to manually edit the MIME-types through the interface, and I forget how to do it in the registry. So, I try (...) (...) My IE 5.0 tries to download ldraw.cgi from that poo.ldr link, and mozilla 1.2.1 tries to download monkeypede.ldr.cgi, go figure. -Tim (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.models, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Another render of set 8458

(...) Sure, I'll send you the file but I don't think my disatisfaction is due to your INC files. I think its due to my laziness in setting up the scene properly and making the proper L3P output mods. -Orion (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) Hi Tim and Kevin, Since I'm a desktop publisher IRL and for longer I can remember I do know something about Postscript and Postscript programming. It is a fairly easy language to learn and understand. Think of it as POV but in 2D. I have a (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) Yes. I'm sure. FYI, I new nothing about LDraw file formats before I wrote LPub either ;^) I'm thinking that the whole page layout (including formatting of callouts, and callouts within callouts), is a whole new layer of concept in LPub (or an (...)   Re: Another render of set 8458

(...) Hi Orion, Will you send me the POV-file you used (zipped please) so I can find out where thing go wrong. Maybe a bug in my INC files??? Jeroen (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) Understood. Would this sort of feature be possible with a plugin system, so someone else who did know about it could write that? Just curious. -Tim (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) Gotcha. This might be a tall order -- but would there be any way for LPub to create these callout elements such as numbers and lines in vector format, and write out an EPS? -Tim (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) Thanks! (...) I'm actually thinking that the page layout stuff might belong in different files with a syntax that is for page layout. Once you've generated all the images and you are to the point of rearranging them on pages, you don't want to (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Callout generation

(...) This looks cool! (...) How about LPub reading from a 'callout.ldr' submodel in the MPD file, and adding an option to say "compile callouts from previously generated images?" -Tim (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

I decided to take a break from the extensibility issue and decided to tackle something I've wanted to tackle for a while: callout images for small sub-assemblies. These callout assemblies can be seen in LEGO building instructions here: (URL) (...) (22 years ago, 13-Apr-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)
