Stickered parts again (Was: How accurate...)

I don't know of there is any "status" of this old discussion; if any consensus ever has been reached in any point. Anyway, here's my idea. A sticker should be a separate part file. You may want to stick it in a creative or humanized* way. A shortcut (...) (22 years ago, 20-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: How accurate need bricks and patterns to be?

(...) Here's something I've been batting around in my head, but I don't know if it's consistent with the sensibilities of the LDraw community, nor if it is really compatible with the existing software. Using your idea #1 from above, might we create (...) (22 years ago, 20-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Lego Designer Software

I bought it tried it, did't like it, sent it back, and after a hefty restocking fee exchanged it for some spare parts. The reason I didn't like it was no import or export functions I also found it doubtful that lego will ever release any new part (...) (22 years ago, 20-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: How accurate need bricks and patterns to be?

(...) I'll defer to Steve for final ruling but here are my thoughts: Ask yourself the following question: Does the portion I'm leaving out detract from functionality of the part? This question applies especially to the "fins" that you show concern (...) (22 years ago, 20-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Lego Designer Software

(...) Lego Designer 1.0 works amazingly well for a first version. It's Help can get you started. It has a few problems and could use some more tips.   How accurate need bricks and patterns to be?

  Re: Excellent rendering...

Just to add that I made my pictures with L3P parts. Started a picture with LGEO parts over an hour ago, and it's still only on line 129 of 480. No traces of any black spots yet, though. I don't want to think about doing this rendering with (...) (22 years ago, 19-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: MOC: Another Escher Picture - Ascending and Descending  [DAT]

(...) I love these Escher sculptures! Make more please. I suspect the secret to this one is all in the upper right corner. A quick attempt to approximate it with LDRAW ends up like this. 1 2 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 4186.DAT 1 7 470 0 420 0 0 1 0 1 0 (...) (22 years ago, 19-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: LPub - LEGO Publication made easy!

  Re: Excellent rendering...

Hello, this is my first time posting in this group. I just wanted to say that I have been looking around at some of these images and all of them are just fantastic. So real looking!   Re: Rendering of a Bryce Rollins model

Maybe I'm not an impartial viewer but that looks really nice. I like how you've given the part borders a nice thick line. For some reason that gives it an appealing look - sort of like a polygonal CGI model with cel shaded textures. Also, kudos for (...) (22 years ago, 19-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Rendering of a Bryce Rollins model

Just finished some renders of Bryce Rollins' SH-60. Coloration may be off from his z-renders but it's pretty close. All of Bryce's models are great, but I thought he really captured the feeling and flair of the SH-60 Seahawk. Anyway have a look: (...)   Re: "Part Unknown!" warning, what does it mean

(...) Hi James, Don't worry. "Part Unknown" in MLCad only means the part is not in the ldraw/parts directory. So even official draw primitives are "Part Unknown" because they are in ldraw/p directory. Otherwise primitives display correctly and no (...) (22 years ago, 18-Sep-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
