  Re: POV rendering file format

(...) Hey, thanks for that tip! My BMP files don't live long anyway, I convert them to PNG right away, but it saves on hard disk thrashing. (...) (23 years ago, 30-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  POV rendering file format

Hi All, Just thought I'd send this out. I'm sure most of you know this but for those who don't it is a huge disk space and upload/download time saver. By adding "+FN" to the POV or MegaPOV command line or click on the big "INI" button in the Windows (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Another Bug...

(...) Hum.. may not be MLCad may be your system? But to be sure let see. My version of MLCad 2.12 is stable so let's make sure you have the same one. My says... MLCAD.exe 1,068KB Application 12/1/2001 6:34AM ALSO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Two questions on primitives

(...) Is this a real issue? Parts can't be truly BFC compliant until all of their subparts are BFC compliant. So yes, you'll have to insert those INVERTNEXT commands. But the part wasn't BFC compliant before, and this is just another part of (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Another Bug...

Well, after finally getting Ldraw and MLCad to my other (non-internet) computor, MlCad decides to crash. It asks me if I want to register the file types. Then, when you click yes OR no, it crashes (illegal opperation) and whenever I try to open it, (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: memory for LGEO

(...) (URL) is an example of a scene that used LGEo parts and has other stuff in it. You can make it more complex by adding 'better' terrain using FORESETR or TERRAGEN to it. This one took 4 minutes to render. POV has has problem when it must figure (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: memory for LGEO

(...) I would like to see a scene that matched the complexity of the LGEO library pieces. (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Why aren't the technic gear teeth primitives?

(...) If they were designed properly, the tooth profiles will be different between the 8t, 24t, etc. gears. The tooth profile of a gear follows an involute curve, which means the profile is the involute of a base circle slightly smaller than the (...)   missing two dat files - stu24b.dat and stu22c.dat

Please Help! If someone could email me or post them here, I'd be very thankful. Don't know what happened to them, and I dont want to redownload every parts update just to get 2 dat files. Thanks in advance. (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Why aren't the technic gear teeth primitives?

But on the two beveled gears they apear practicly identical as far as I can (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts.primitives)

Re: Optimising piece use (Was: LDraw.org MOTM/SOTM voting for March is open)

Cool. I like the parallel-paths-to-ground idea that you'd get with conductance and studs as resistors. I can see large 1x16 "ground plane beams being used, likewise maybe wall pieces. Another interesting aspect is surface gradients, and the use of (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Two questions on primitives

(...) I'm concerned that if we release those primitives that can be used as both inside and outside surfaces as BFC complient, we'll have to go back to all the other pieces that use them to insert the INVERTNEXT directive (where appropriate).   Re: memory for LGEO

(...) I would like to point out a difference in thinking here. 64MB may be fast and good enough for rendering any complex/big model ALONE. That being just the model with a simple grey floor or the building instructions. Since I usely render my (...) (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Non-coplanar vertices

Did we decide whether these are serious enough to stop certification? Part 2039s02.dat gets a bunch of these. ROSCO (23 years ago, 29-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: memory for LGEO

  Re: memory for LGEO

(...) My computer has Win98se, 64Mb memory and I never encountered problems with LGEO parts. Probably 32Mb is sufficient for models below 1000 parts. I estimate one could render all official lego models using only 32Mb. Damien (23 years ago, 28-Mar-02, to lugnet.cad.ray)
