  Re: POV-Ray user-friendly use

I forgot to mention, when you use 3DWin, convert the .dat file to a .dxf then convert that to pov/moray. it works a lot better than converting them directly.   Re: POV-Ray user-friendly use

I use 3DWin (URL) to convert to Moray (URL) have to re-color the parts, but if you use l3p to make pov files of the model you can copy the colors created to the material editor in moray. I spent a lot of time useing this before I learned to move the (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad)

4511.dat Train Door Sliding - Type 1 doesn't have texture?

Just as with my query some time back about shutters and texture... I think the real part has texture (or else i am using the wrong part) but the LDraw version just has lines drawn on it, I think. It renders in POVRay as a flat slab. Do I have a (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: Proposal: New Parts Category for round parts

In lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, Steve Bliss writes: <mostly snipped> I agree pretty much with everything Steve wrote here. Sorry this is so long. If you don't want to read the whole, at least scan to the end, and read the final paragraph! (...) Nothing. Following prior standards has to do with using 'towball socket'.   POV-Ray user-friendly use

Heya all, I just created USS-Constellation in MLCad and I want it render in POV-Ray. But it's not very userfriendly soft. ;) I wanna ask if there is some utility or upgrade for POV-Ray so I don't need everytime to add new coordinates for position, (...)   Re: LDGLite orientation matrix (l3p enhancement requests?)

Jacob recently asked for an ldglite enhancement to dump ldglite command line args and POV camera settings which reproduce the current view. I assume he means l3p compatible camera settings. I think I have it working (except for my question about the (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.ray)

Re: Proposal: New Parts Category for round parts

(...) Now THAT is a good question. My first instinct is a resounding yes. But it turns out that it's never (that I can find) come in a TECHNIC set! :-) (The 2x2 brick with (side) peg has) -- joshua (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: Proposal: New Parts Category for round parts

Re: Proposal: New Parts Category for round parts

(...) What does associating the two parts have to do with using the term "ball socket" over the longer "towball socket"? There's the additional issue here of the two "standards" of ball-socket, the original style (see the steam shovel bucket), and (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Hi, Can someone ask Michel Brachmond (from Germany?) to contact me direct? He posted some very nice models on Brickshelf and I want to ask him something. Oh, and please don't follow up this mail! Thanks, Jeroen (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.people, lugnet.cad, lugnet.loc.de, lugnet.trains)

  My first MOC in 3D

Well, I decided to test the waters in the LDRAW and related software community finally. I've created a 3D model of my latest MOC Train Car as an initial test. Sorry to reply to myself, I forgot a couple of things (or 1 thing, repeated a few times).
