  Smooth surfaces

Hi, I think the following is of interest in this newsgroup: L3P generates "meshes" of parts from Ldraw, that are not in LGEO and not covered by other special handling. Meshes consist of triangles and there are creases, if triangles from different (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: LGEO and MLCAD colors

Hi, I had problems with rendering color green in L3p. Weird. I made a geen tree, which shows up alright in LDraw, Ldlite, Mlcad, L3lab, and LDView. But, when converting via l3p it renders grey in POVray, instead of green. The default color in the (...) (23 years ago, 14-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: Parts list bug?

(...) Thanks. I look forward to the new version! I hacked around it for what I needed but I sure can use this working right in future, my models continue to get larger, the one I am working on is really close to 1000 pieces total, so fixing it by (...)   Re: LGEO and MLCAD colors

(...) Hi Lutz! :) (...) Great! (...) You could include both... (...) You can refer to the LDraw FAQ for various color numbers. The >16 numbers aren't recognized by LDraw, but are recognized by LDLite, L3P (I think), MLCAD, and L3Lab. For RGB values, (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Super Mario World Mushroom  [DAT]

Just tinkering around with my (lonely) blue 1200 brick tub and I came up with this nifty little sculpture. I've no digital camera to post a real picture so I just rendered the whole thing in MLCad. I'm quite pleased with the results, having only (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: Parts Tracker is Now Live!

(...) Thanks, I'm working on getting more files online... (...) Nope, those are supposed to both be there. 2546p01 is the general file, the one we'll use most often. 81379 is an 'official shortcut' - 81379 is LEGO's number for the parrot piece, (...)   Re: "Tore's" boxes, special file naming instructions

(...) I'm still thinking about this. Awhile ago, there was discussion of having a "0 DETAIL" meta-statement, to identify which lines in a DAT were critical for rendering, and which lines filled in the details. This approach could be used to reduce (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  LGEO and MLCAD colors

Hi all, If noticed a lot people having problems with MLCAD and POV-Ray colors using the LGEO library. So as I got a bunch of new colors to be included, there is need for a solution. The colors defined in "lg_cols.tab" are aligned to the color code (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Re: Parts list bug?

(...) Larry, you are right - that is a bug. I've already corrected it and going to release a new version of MLCad soon. Thanks for the bug report. Regards, Michael (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: "Tore's" boxes, special file naming instructions

(...) Currently MLCad takes files from the following directories in the order shown below: 1) BFC\P 2) BFC\Parts 3) P 4) Parts 5) Models 6) Current directory (that is the directory where a project has been loaded from or saved to). All other (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: "Tore's" boxes, special file naming instructions

I looked in the primitves directory and saw that some of the files in the 48 directory had the same filename as those in the P directory. How does Ldraw/Mlcad differentiate between these files? If 3001.box is renamed to 3001.dat, and I place it in (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Parts Tracker is Now Live!

(...) Hi Steve, looking good! Noticed that "Animal Bird with Parrot Pattern" appears twice - once with a "_" prepended as parts 2546p01 & 81379. Is this a bug, or has it been submitted twice? ROSCO PS: I've done 1 part, does that make me (...) (23 years ago, 13-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Tore: (...) Except that the extensions "box" and "min" don't seem to correspond to the two concepts, it might be a good idea to identify the simplification level based in the file name extension.   New Wallpaper- In light of today... Missing Man Formation

I don't know how you feel about this, but I did the one thing I can do well. And that is scenes like these. I made this Missing Man formation of three of my new "David" fighters in tribute to the lives lost at the WTC today. If you have comments (...)   Parts Tracker is Now Live!

Yes, that's right. The moment you've all been waiting for. The new Parts Tracker is live and ready for action. Well, mostly. It's in a "pilot phase" -- think of it as a "gamma test". That means we're using real data, and it will have real results, (...) (23 years ago, 12-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw) !!

  looking for castle headwear

I am looking for any castle headwear for ldraw. All I am aware of is the bullet helm, the flare helm and the forestman cap, are there any others? In particular I am after one of the knights helments. (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.cad)
