Re: New Part: 6572 Steering Knuckle Arm w/ Towball

(...) But long parts oriented along the X-axis are usually symmetric -- like bricks and beams. Often, parts with one asymmetric axis (ie, parts with a sense of 'front and back' or 'left and right' or even 'base and tip') are oriented with the (...)   Re: Help with generating bmp/gif from ldraw parts?

(...) That's odd--LDLite crops images to the space actually used. There shouldn't be any white space. Ever, as far as I know. Have you generated images with the resolution set to '(default)' (or don't set resolution at all). With this option, LDLite (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: What a pain...

(...) I believe Bram Lambrecht is working on that one. It was posted fairly recently to the lugnet.cad.dat.parts group. (You mean the 4x5 base with two seats, right?) Fredrik (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: New Part: 30248 Helicopter skids (WAS) Re: Looking for parts

(...) Are you sure about that? It has always been my impression that "long" things face the X direction in LDraw. Take a look at the Car Bases, for example, a majority of them span the X axis. I can't see why the helicopter base shouldn't. Fredrik (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Re: LDAO problem--VEC check goes crazy

(...) Make sure there's a PARTPROF.PIF file in your LDAO directory. In Explorer, this file will probably show up just PARTPROF, with the type "Shortcut to MS-DOS Program". If you've got the latest version of LDAO, this file should be there. (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Error message when starting LDAO...

(...) Augh! LDAO didn't install it, because it's not included in the LDAO setup! Drat! Now I've got to figure out what's up with that! Steve (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: What a pain...

Re: New Part: 30248 Helicopter skids (WAS) Re: Looking for parts

(...) How about the 'Plane' category? The existing categories for vehicle-related pieces are Boat, Car, Plane and Train. Out of those, Plane seems like the best bet to me.   Help with generating bmp/gif from ldraw parts?

Ok, I'll admit I'm not very experienced with any of the lego cad packages since I find them (for me) too hard to use. But I am trying to generate a VEC within LDAO for every part in every color. There is probably an easier way to do it that what I (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Error message when starting LDAO...

(...) Well, I fixed it, but I still don't know why I didn't even _have_ the file to begin with. Maybe someone more versed in VB can explain? All three of the machines I was using it on had fairly new installs of 98SE and 2000, so maybe I just hadn't (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad)

  Stickers for Tiles in POV

Hey guys How would I go about putting a .bmp or other image file into pov to put on a tile or brick? I am currently making a pov of the v8 supercar II 8448 and I need the tiles with the decorations on them that aren't in Ldraw. Thnx fellas Brett (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.ray)

  Steering Wheel Large

Sorry about the origin stuff, fredrik, but I don't really make many parts and I am not much of an expert. I make the parts in AutoCAD 2000 and then use stl2dat by Marc Klein to convert them.
