Transformers, more than meets the eye...
Transformers, robots in disguise.

Okay, so it's not an actual for real Transformer from the TV show, but hey, it's
nifty enough.  Presenting for your perusal, Talisaro.

Inspired by Paul D'Urbano's transformer:

and the hands from Stuart Immonen's latest mech (though I'm not sure he created
it, but he most recently used it)

I had to build something that went from bot to something and back.  It's been a
while since I built a transformer, and I think they're much more challenging
then straight mecha to build and still have them look good.  The head I'm still
annoyed at the way it's not properly obscured in jet mode, and the arms are a
little scrawny, and it's awfully flimsy and cranky to transform, but I love it
all the same.

Enjoy!

Adrian

(...) I like the bulk of the torso & legs; the arms may be a little thin, but not that bad. on a bit off-Lego-topic is the general observation that all the transformers i've seen here on Lugnet have used major vehicle body parts for mech body parts; (...) (...) Hi Adrian, Wow, that looks great! I'm amazed at how much detail you packed into it while keeping it at microfig scale. If I tried to get that much detail and possability into a transforming jet I think it would end up being 20-wide (just the (...) (21 years ago, 31-May-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Better, I'd wager! Adrian, this is a super-fantastic transforming mech, definitely in the tradition of the Transformers and Robotech, but wholly unique. It would be an accomplishment just to have created either one or the other of the (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

(...) Great experiment Adrian...and a successful one I might add! It rings of the pre-Transformers that I remember picking up on Florida trips. I don't know if they were Diaclone or not...I think they may have been spinoffs from the Gi-King (sp?) (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Hey, that's awesome! I've tried to make some transformers myself, but I either make it too big and run out of parts or make it too small and it ends up sucking or being flimsy. I think you did a great job of keeping both forms seperate and distinct (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) Hey those guys were not the ultimatum on TFs (then again it was a licensed show, but look at some of those new designs ;-P ) (...) Adrian, You've created two excellent forms with this guy, and at microfig scale too! The proportions are great (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)
