Robots in Disguise... a good day for mecha —Mark Sandlin
Hi Everyone! Today at about 9:00pm I get a call from Sean Forbes, telling me they have the new Robots in Disguise series at Wal Mart, along with the Bionicle CD and silver mask. So I hop in the car, drive down to Wal Mart, and snag the last Optimus (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Cool Mark, I was at T'R'U last night, and had Megatron and a couple of the two car packs in my hands...but I couldn't see spending $35 on them...the quality just wasn't very good in my estimation. What do you think of the quality of the (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Everything seems to be of good quality, IMO. Did you say the cars come in two-packs? :^\ ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 20-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Robots in Disguise... a good day for mecha —Matthew Gerber
(...) Oh yes...didn't I mention? The Autobot cars are...get this...the size of Go*Bots (o/` bum, bum, BUMMMMMM o/`). Hot Wheels size cars with clunky robot modes, and the ones I saw looked like they were made of that softer, milky looking plastic (...) (23 years ago, 20-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Based on those pics and the ones Mark took, I don't think I'll be getting any of the new line. The original ones looked *much* better, if you ask me. Jeff (23 years ago, 20-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Robots in Disguise... a good day for mecha —Jay Jacinto
(...) Yeah but the old ones didn't have the level of articulation these Transformers. At least with these you can put them in much more dynamic poses, other than standing and kinda running. Thanks Jay (23 years ago, 20-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Robots in Disguise... a good day for mecha —Mark Sandlin
(...) I have been thinking about this. The cars you saw were the little mini-cars. There are three other cars of larger size called "deluxe" or something. Anyway, the deluxe cars are more like the size of the original Jazz or Prowl, etc. They also (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Robots in Disguise... a good day for mecha —Matthew Gerber
(...) Yeah, I finally saw that myself after I posted that Amazon/T'R'U link. Weird thing: I have decided that I HATE the new form factor small cars, but I used to LOVE the original mini-bots. So, I'm basically full of it. Go out and buy the little (...) (23 years ago, 21-Jul-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Robots in Disguise... a good day for mecha —Mark Sandlin
(...) Ok, part of why the beast stuff doesn't appeal to me is... well.. what's the point? The original Transformers were created because the Ark repaired them to be able to fit in with the vehicles and machinery of Earth. So they're in "disguise" (...)
