True, Battletech uses the assault classification. However, to me, assault
implies something that is bulky, relatively slow, and generally loaded with
weapons.
Look at the Stormbringer on my site to see what prompted my question about
sizes.

| (...) ...Ive always thought of the word assault as a charge or initial attack, so by that term, an assault mecha would be fairly fast, preferably lightly armed in preference to heavily armoured with the idea being to get to the enemy intact as fast (...)
